Workmans Utility Basket
Fishermen and farmers once used baskets like this to transport tools and gather food. Ours is woven by hand from rattan with side handles that make it easy to carry, and a brass-buckled leather strap that secures the hinged lid. 19" wide x 14" deep x 16" high Handwoven rattan wicker with leather straps.

Love Pottery barn but not this item

The basket was very lightweight and the lid looks entirely too big for the base. Returned online purchase. But I absolutely love Pottery Barn!

Lid mis-shaped for basket

This basket appears differently from the photograph. The lid does not fit well over the basket base, extending 2-3 inches from each corner. I returned it without problem but would have kept it if the lid fit the base better.

Nice basket

The strap does look new but I am ok with that. Nice size looks good. I thought it would be heavier. Very lightweight. All in all it is a good value for the cost. It sits next to my brown nailhead leather chair in the living room. Not quite high enoug as a side table but not too far off. It is a nice rich brown color and I am sure it has enough room to store throws or dvd's.

Best Lidded Storage Basket

I just love my new Workman's Utility Basket! I needed a good looking way to store my CDs and DVDs-- and keep the dust out. This basket delivers on all fronts, and it blends beautifully with my other dark espresso and black hardwood furnishings. Here's a great way to add extra versatility to this piece: I went down to my local glass cutting store and had a piece of 15" X 20" glass cut to sit on the top of the lid. Presto! Instant extra side/end table--at a great price.

Agree with previous reviewer. Leather closure looks brand new. In fact, I have to say the leather looks too bright against the basket as to make it an eyesore. I purchased it anyway since I need basket with lid with this dimension and can't find anything else. So, I did a bit of work to make it so that it doesn't look spanking new. I sanded the leather, I roughen it up, wet it, and finally decided to mix some brown and black eyeshadow powder (since I have no paint powder) with some oil and then smear it all over the closure including corners and sides. It looks good now.

Massive disappointment in the leather closure..

looks brand spanking new.. not all rustic or the color as it is pictured.. i would say the leather closure is more clay colored..
