Vintage Oversized Drape Rod

elegant finial on oversize rod

The oversize finial with a beaded inset has a good pewter finish and color, looking antique, and justifying the vintage descriptor. It is a good match for the over-sized span of the draperies.

Hardware should be better quality

Rods and Finials are fine quality, but the hardware is lacking. Two of the anchors broke (tips came off when they hit a stud) and 1 screw head came off while installing. There were no extras so I had to go purchase replacements at the hardware store, pull out the broken pieces and reinstall the brackets. Complete pain. Probably wouldn't buy again as I was surprised by the flimsiness.

Because I did not install the middle bracket in a stud and without an anchor (my bad), the bracket came loose and I had to go back about 5 steps to re-install. The rods was very durable during this process (I will spare you the long boring details but part of it was the rod coming apart from the weight). And yes, the finials are also iversized and beeeeautiful!!!!! Very happy. I bought the double XL size.

I gave it 4 stars instead of5 because there were some scratches on the rod but they will covered up by the curtains. Love the thickness and how large the finials are, much bigger than I expected.

I was pleasantly surprised at this rod I ordered. It is unique and antique looking. I ordered the one with the glass ball finials and I have gotten so many comments on it! The quality, craftsmanship of the rod is great. Love it!

I purchased this drape rod because the size of my windows required an oversized rod in the silver/brushed metal color. I have many of PB drape rods, but all are in the oil rubbed bronze color and they are fine quality. The brushed nickle, however, rubs off with the tiniest scrape (when threading the pole through the brackets) or when you move the drapery rings. Additionally, I don't know if the brackets aren't the proper size for the bar of this size/weight or the dry wall screws aren't substantial enough, but they pulled out of our drywall a number of times which caused patching and required drilling additional holes. PB was kind enough to send us another pole due to the extreme scraping of our first one which we were VERY CAREFUL hanging. The finials also look a little bent at the ends and aren't a perfect fit. Had I known all of this before starting this project, I never would have bought this rod, but after all the effort it took, we just left the darn thing up there.

The rods extensions seemed plastic looking, with rings that connected the rod and extension part were cheap looking. The finials didn't match the rods in color, the rods were a nice shiny color, the finials were a dark dirty color. This was in the vintage silver / pewter color.

I purchased the beaded rods and finials in oil rubbed bronze. While their design looks gorgeous, we are returning them. The finials didn't screw on straight to the rods, AND the rod finish got scratched off before we even finished installing them. I think they will continue to get scratched especially with grommet panels.

Heavy-duty drapery rod

I received 2 of these rods about 2 weeks ago and absolutely love them. Their vintage look is identical to the picture and fits my decor perfectly. I have never purchased curtain rods without a middle support and was a bit skeptical at first. I shouldn't have been! I have four heavy cotton drapes hung from one rod and it supports them beautifully. Typical Pottery Barn product.....well made and beautiful to look at.

Extension Rod

I purchased the Large rod for a window that is 78" wide. The middle rod is 60" and then extentions come out from either side of the middle rod. once they are extended, they lean down so I needed to return the item for the XL....awaiting that one. The extentions are blacl/
