Not for bare feet

This rug was extremely uncomfortable to walk on without shoes. It is very scratchy and rough. We don't wear shoes in our house so this rug had to go back.

Super Scratchy...owie on bare feet! But gorgeous!

OUCH! Your bare feet and little kids will not thank you for this purchase! SO scratchy it's unbelievable....but it's really sisal, right!
So I was a bit bummed, especially with 4 little kids saying 'it's so scratchy Mommy!'...don't expect to want to sit on it, and your kids will not have a rug to play on. The hardwood floors are comfy to sit & play on in comparison....does that completely defeat the purpose of having a rug in the first place? I don't know!
What I do know is that they're GORGEOUS! I love how they look. I bought 2, one for the living room and one for our master bedroom....and they look stunning. My husband, who I expected to complain about the lack of comfort....LOVES THEM! He's protective of them & doesn't want the dog even near his beautiful rugs! So there you have it...I'd buy them again for the beauty and durability for our crazy life of kids & pets, but bummed about the feel!

A great way to keep stains to a minimum is hose the entire thing down annually in the summer and hang to dry. Like any natural fiber, if you spot clean, you'll leave marks on that area. Anyway, that's worked for me. It's a great rug!

not true to color, but still nice

The quality of the rug just by looking at it is great- simple, clean, contemporary. The color I ordered was linen, but what showed up was more of a green tone of the linen. So, do not trust what you see on the picture above as color. The other reviewers have pointed out that this rug does not withstand stains well. My linen sisal rug is placed on a area with not so much trafic so I hope I will be content.

I have this rug in my entrance hallway and have not had any issues with stains. We have not had any spills on it but there is lots of foot traffic and it vacuums up nicely, we've had it there a ocuple years. I like the way it looks and want to buy one for our mud hall in the back of the house.

Disappointing...

I bought two of these for my kitchen a year ago and have been very disappointed with them. While they did look nice when I first put them down, they are now completely covered in stains. Due to the texture and material of the rugs, I have found that the stains are impossible to remove and that any attempt to remove them only makes the rug look worse. (There are now large white spots everywhere with stains remaining in the middle of them.) I am currently looking for replacements and feel that these were a waste of money. I would only recommend buying this product if you will be placing it in an area where it will not be walked on, ever.

love the color and texture but have to be careful

I've had two of these and they look lovely with the light color and the fine, even texture, but they are very unforgiving of the slightest accident. I've been able to get stains out but then the rug is left with a watermark. If you are super neat and your guest are too (and your pets), enjoy - otherwise go for another natural material like seagrass.
