Huge basket has many uses

I love this basket- it is one of my favorites. I keep table linens in it. My only complaint is that like others have said- it SMELLS bad when you get it. I bought the darker one, so perhaps it is the stain? It arrived about 3 weeks before my Shayne table and by then it did not smell, but I had to put it outside to air before use. I have not had any problems with scratching, but my guess is those who do have problems with it are storing too heavy a load to be pulling it in and out frequently. I think this could also be useful for storing things like games, or for use under a bed. Would like to buy another!

Fits Table well but has issues

Purchased to match white Shayne table and it does that well. Basket arrived almost a month before table did which was fortunate as it took that long airing it out to allow the ferocious fumes to offgas. Basket is well made and sturdy but I would not put on table's shelf without either a shelf liner or adding felt feet or some such or basket will scratch the table something fierce.

Bought the darker colored basket and love it! I actually bought it to store a quilt in it and push it under the Danielle chest. It fits perfectly under the chest and the quilt folds perfectly into the basket. Very sturdy! Love it!

Upon opening the box, a terrible odor from the box and the basket filled the room. It smelled like some type of oil that may have been used to preserve it during shipment.
I notified customer service, and they offered to replace it, but I told them that the same thing may happen again. As of today, the smell has dissapated.

Upon receiving this basket there was an extreme odor of insect spray as the shipping box was opened. The basket is unusable and currently sits on the back porch. We've been airing it out and spraying it with OUST. Nothing has worked. Unfortunately, the shipping box was thrown out and this basket may experience the same fate as the shipping box. What a waste of good money!

Do not buy for use with shayne table

The basket itself is good quality and functional. However DO NOT BUY TO GO WITH SHAYNE TABLE! We put several felt pads under the basket and still have terrible scratches on the bottom and sides. Very disappointed.

Great storage baskets

I bought 2 for under my 23 year old son's bed. I thought they were a bit pricey, but as they were Christmas gifts, I went ahead. They are very sturdy, well made, and I'm sure will last him many years as he starts his own home.

I had to put this basket outside for more than a week because it smelled so strongly of some kind of organic solvent. I almost sent it back just to get rid of the odor. Otherwise it was as advertised and seems well made.

I bought this basket to fit on a shelf under our new bathroom vanity. I looked at a LOT of baskets before deciding upon this one. It's the perfect size and height for the purpose. It matches the wood well and can hold at least 6 towels and display them well. It also slides easily, and so can be pulled out and pushed back in without any damage to the shelf or basket.

I ordered the natural basket since the dark stain that I really wanted was out of stock, but the natural has some darker pieces in the weave and looks fine under my mahogany stain Shayne table. It fits perfectly, and looks great!

It fits in the bottom shelf and completes the look of the table. It can only be pulled out the narrow way, though, so that takes some getting used to. Looks great and very functional. As someone else suggested, I would put pads under the corners just to be on the safe side of protecting the table surface.

The darker version of this basket looks beautiful with the Shayne table in black. It is very sturdy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it has a rather strong odor (something like gasoline) but I've been told this odor fades in time and I've only had it for a few days.
