Purchased this item and loved the look .... however the first time they were used - moisture from the glass sitting on the coaster totally removed all the color of the leather in a glass ring - Pottery Barn cheerfully replaced the set.... and the exact same thing happened to the second set as well - they look beautiful until you use them - sadly, not worth the money

i bought these as a gift and was very happy with the product. the leather is a great dark brown and very handsome. for a set of 6, the price is very reasonable and a great value. i would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Excellent appearance, but poor durability

I purchased this set of coasters for myself. I did have them Monogramed. When they arrived not all of the monograming was consistent. The first coaster in the stack wasn't monogramed very well. When I first used them, I placed a glass of iced tea in a double old fashioned glass on top of them. The glass was only slightly moist and only stayed on top of the coaster for 60 seconds or less. However, when I removed the glass from the coaster, the color was completely removed from the leather and left a permanent mark. Since then I have been flipping them upside down when using them, as not to damage the finish. This completely defeats the purpose of having them monogramed. One would expect that a coaster would be at least somewhat water resistant. If you're looking for coasters that will look nice after repeated uses, then these are not what you're looking for. Don't waste your money on the monograming on this item.

Gave a set to my daughter & to my daughter in-law. They just loved them. Just what they both had been looking for to replace stone coasters. The quality and value were there for me to give them as Christmas gifts.

Cheap leather?

I bought several items from this leather collection and sent back that which wasn't monogrammed. I found the leather and the products in general to be cheap. Lesson learned on my end.
