We use a small, antique desk for our computer. This brushed-nickel, dainty, task lamp provides the light we need, without taking much room on the desk. Very classy looking.

This is a very nice lamp which has two light levels. It fits perfectly in small spaces and has nice weight to it.

I like that it is a table lamp that does not take up a lot of space. It is convenient to have two levels of light intensity. I have it in use as a bedside reading light.

I returned this beautiful, bright desk lamp...

I received the lamp damaged, with severe scratches and markings on the base. The lamp itself has a nice weight and the light is strong and very bright (I did not notice the damage until I turned on the light, which illuminated the problem). The light intensity is perfect if you need to read or work. I love the style of the lamp - it's beautiful and looks great in my workspace.
One other problem I noticed is that the lamp adjustments fail easily. So, if I turn the screw to adjust the lamp to a certain angle, the screw does not hold very well, causing the lamp to flop. So it needs continual readjustment.
I'm assuming that my lamp is just a faulty, damaged example of what is otherwise a great lamp, so I'm returning it and ordering another one.

The Photographer's Desk Lamp is a mini version of the floor lamp I have in the same room. It's the perfect size for a desk top. The small size and great look make it a definite keeper. Love it!

I love the look of this lamp. There is a cord switch but the switch is towards the bottom of the cord (close to where you plug it in). How dumb is that! We are using the lamps at our bedsides. We have to get out of bed to turn them on and off. I can't imagine who thought of that.

Perfect light for working at night.

I love this handsome little lamp especially for working at night. I use the soft light if I'm working on my computer. It lights up the keyboard without lighting up the whole room. I turn it to the higher light for drawing or beading. It illuminates what I want to see perfectly without putting me in the spotlight.

This is a very pretty lamp, however it's meant for direct/bright light. there is no ambiance to this. I bought it for reading, so it works. but if you're looking for a lamp to turn on for some ambient light, this is not it. Also there is a note on this lamp that says that handling of the lamp will cause you to have lead on your hands. It seemed a little strange. I now wash my hands every time I touch the lamp.

I recently purchased this lamp for my desk. I think the size is a good fit (I don't need, or want, a gigantic lamp on my desk.) So, the pro is I like the size, the light output (using an LED), and - when purchased on-sale, a good price. BUT - the BIG disappointment - there is no on-off switch ON the lamp. It is on the cord. Where does the cord hang when sitting on a desk or bedside table? Behind the furniture - making it hard to access. I wish desk lamps, and bedside lamps, would have a ON-OFF switch ON the lamp somewhere....

This lamp is not the quality that I expected. I am very disappointed in the lamp style and the fact that it gets so hot after leaving it on for just a few minutes. This problem is with a 40 watt bulb. I would have returned the lamp but I desperately needed a lamp for my desk so I decided to keep it. That being said I will rethink ordering another lamp from pottery barn in the future.

A great value for the design & quality of craftsmanship. I chose the antique bronze, and it fits in well with the room style. Pair it with an Edison bulb, and it looks early 20th century.

I was so impressed by the quality and design of this lamp. I'd looked for something"different" and wanted it in the oiled bronze color. Then I spotted this lamp in your catalogue and was so excited.
When it arrived, I was more than pleased - it exceeded my expectations! It is on my desk in my home office and looks very stylish and classy, not to mention that it provides just the amount of task lighting that I needed!

Very stylish lamp for the office. It is on the small side but works well in my office. I wish it had an on/off switch on the base of the lamp instead of on the cord.
