PB Standard Oversized Drape Rod
Our oversized drapery rod is formed of steel for superior strength. A thicker diameter gives the oversized rod striking presence. Oversized 1.25" diameter style for grandly scaled windows. Small: extends from 28" to 48" long Medium: extends from 48" long to 88" long Large: extends from 60" long to 108" long X-Large: extends from 96" long to 120" long XX-Large: extends from 108" long to 144" long Cast of steel for superior strength. Nice rods, but replace the screws

I bought 8 of these rods, and they look great. My only complaint is the cheap screws. We had several that just broke off in the wall during installation. Do yourself a favor and go to the hardware store and replace them before you get started.

We have 3 large windows in our morning room and I couldn't find a nice curtain rod long enough....that didn't look cheap. Its great and easy enough to hang. Price was fair.

Nice but scratches easily

I got the rubbed oil color. It looks great on the wall, but it scratches very easily. Not sure how to fix it. But from far away it looks nice.

What can you say about a curtain rod?

The oversized rod is nice and sturdy with a consitant finish and embellishmets which fit tight. It all mounts sturdily to the wall. These rods are going to last a heck of a lot longer than the first set of curtains. I am using a single x-large rod for a picture window and two side windows in my living room and another large rod over two windows in my bed room.

One of the only rods I found that was well made and clean looking for a mid-modern environment. Wish PB included a little template for the mounting bracket holes.

Installation can be tricky

I have ordered and installed 2 of these drape rods (about 2 years apart). They are gorgeous, which is why I gladly suffer through the installation. They are strong and sturdy and have a beautiful scale above my larger windows. A few little things I would mention: 1) The rings get hung up where the rod extends. Its not bad at first but after a year of wear it takes a little more care to close them. 2) The screws that come with the brackets are useless. Granted, I was installing into cement block with lead anchors, but the second you put any sort of pressure on the screwdriver, it strips the screws. I went to the hardware store and purchased similar screws. The new screws (nothing special) were able to handle the torque needed to tighten sufficiently. 3) The bracket design does not allow direct access to the top screw. You have to angle the screw driver a bit to get at the screw. Luckily I had tools to accommodate, but most would have trouble with a standard screw driver.

I love Pottery Barn drapery rods! I have them in our new house and we also had them in our last two houses. When we sold our last two houses, the buyers specially requested that the drapery rods be sold with the house. They always look wonderful, are great quality, and add value to your home.

This rod is beautiful; I ordered it in pewter with square finials. So elegant and grand! This is the only rod I could find that would span my window. It's just what i was looking for; love the style!

Beautiful, sturdy curtain rods that fit wonderfully into my home. They would have been very easy to install except for the screws that came with them- they were very cheap and stripped easily. Make sure you pick up some better steel ones before trying to install!

We bought 5 of these for our home. Great quality, sturdy & installed great. We hung the silk dupioni drapes on them. We also ordered a custom made smith & noble rod & didn't use it because we were so disappointed with the quality after using these pottery barn rods.

Very high quality drapery rods

These rods will last a lifetime. They are made of very high quality metal. The brackets, finials & rings are constructed of the same material. They really dress up the velvet drapes I've hung on them. They seem a little pricey but once you see & feel them you'll see that they are worth every penny.

After looking high and low and waiting for several weeks this rod finally arrived and has been hung. The quality is excellent as is the finish and rod strength. The mounting brackets are a bit challenging but seem to hold this very long rod strongly to the wall.

I purchased the oversized square rod in the antique bronze finish. They are very nice and large enough if you have a large room and/or window.

We ordered this rod and it came today and its pretty and the rod itself is fairly good quality. However, the screws they send to install the rod are ridiculously cheap and we broke two and stripped one trying to install in the studs like the directions suggested. If you order this rod, I would highly recommend having extra screws on hand.

Exactly what I wanted

These drape rods were the larger diameter that I needed for grommet drapes. They are substantial and solid and came with all the hardware needed to install them. I am pleased with their look and design. And they work with my eclectic style!!

These rods are high quality, beautiful, and easy to install. I purchased the dark bronze color with the ball finials. My draperies are somewhat heavy, and these rods are strong enough to hold them. The only downside is that, on the longer rods, the rings don't slide easily over the seams in the rod. Lighter weight draperies would slide easier on these.
