Poor Bracket Design

When I ordered these the picture represented a U-shaped bracket when if fact it has a closed O-shape bracket. This makes it extremely difficult to hang drapes because the material must be on the rod before you thread the rod through the bracket. It is most cumbersome especially when trying to lift the oversized rod plus weight of the drape and aim for the hole. The rod is nice quality and looks fine but I was hoping to to have drapes on it! If you choose to buy, make sure you have at least 2 other people to assist when installing. That has been my experience.

My favorite Drapery Rod

I love, love, love this rod! It looks great in any room and its design is the best there is. I've searched everywhere and tried different styles in the past, but this is the best if you want a great designed rod. This is my second purchase of these rods. I put a set in my master bedroom and now in my living room. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I only wish there were some color options, but they can be painted to match your decor.

I'm a new home owner and have been buying many things from pottery barn. My girlfriend and I have loved the look of everything we've bought. However, pottery barn needs to put a little more money into the mounting hardware. The screws that come with this drape rod are #6's and are only an 1 1/4" long. With the mounting bracket and a 1/2" of sheet rock you're left about 5/8's of the screw to catch any wood around the window frame. Go to your locale hardware store and buy some #8's or #10's about 1 1/2" to 2" long and you'll never have to worry about that drape rod coming down.

XXLarge oversized double curtain rod

Easy to use, nice looking curtain rods and finials.
I was surprised to find FIVE brackets, because I had asked if it had a center support and was told yes... but not told that it had three center supports. I can't use this and still be able to open and close my drapes, so I'm only using three of the five brackets and hoping it holds up.
The screws aren't long enough to get a good anchor in the studs to I bought longer ones at the hardware store.

A great drape rod

I looked at a number of places & sites before I decided to buy the Standard Oversized Double Drape Rod from PB. (It's hard to find 144" rods! particularly double ones!) The rod shipped promptly, all the pieces were there, the directions were clear, and the installation went quickly. I loved the fact that I can swap out the finials if I want to. The quality, design details and color are just what I wanted. I chose white sheers for the inside and lovely grommeted silk-like panels for the outside, and am totally satisfied.

Looks great, but a total headache

I was very excited to receive this order when placed, three months ago, as it was the only large double rod I could find anywhere. However, the item was backordered a few weeks, as I was informed during purchase. The backorder date came and past and I never received word on the status, until I contacted PB to find out what was going on. Apparently the backorder date was pushed back even further, which I would have been fine with if I could have been notified. The backorder date came and went, yet again without notification. Finally received the item and it has two sizeable dents and scratches on the rod. Thankfully, it does not appear to hinder the structural integrity and I placed the scratched sides toward the wall, to avoid further complications with a return.
