Shorter and much harder than expected

I have been dying to get a new, big comfy couch for serious lounging. I thought the PB Comfort Square Grand was my answer after seeing and sitting on it in the store. Sadly, I am disappointed after delivery. The couch is 6 1/2 inches shorter than the specs say, which is 39 inches high. It is actually 32.5 inches. More than 1/2 of a foot is a big difference! It is also hard as a rock. I bounce off the cushions when I sit on them. I read that 1 sign of a well made couch is if the back is solid. The back of this couch is hollow. I expect more for the price (it is not cheap). While the couch is nice looking, it was not the comfy couch that I was hoping for. I hope it softens with time, but I can't imagine it will soften enough. I have the everyday suede, box cushion polyester wrap, which was recommended by the store associates. If you're looking for a visually appealing, extremely rigid couch, this might be for you. Otherwise, I recommend you pass.

This is the second sofa I have ordered from Pottery Barn, and it is an outstanding value. The quality of workmanship and materials is excellent, and it's really comfortable! Looks great in my living room - a classic contemporary style that can mix and match with many things.
