Not as comfortable as the one in the store

When we were shopping for couches my husband fell in love with this couch because it was so sink in comfortable. When you sat down it just felt so pillowy and soft. We got it in the everyday suede for several reasons---it looked a little more upscale, it won't shrink if washed (polyester) as some of the canvas and twill have in other comments, and very easy to clean. Love the color which is nutmeg. HOWEVER, it's not near as comfortable as the one in the store. It is kind of stiff and ungiving even after 6 months. My husband figured out it was because of the everyday suede material. We took off the slipcovers and sat on the bare cushions and it felt just like the one in the store. So now we are contemplating buying a different slipcover in twill or canvas but don't really want to shell out another $800.

Great Sofa

I've had this sofa for a few months now and I love it. It has a solid, quality build. I chose the linen slipcover and it's softened up a little so it has a great feel. I'm 6 foot 3 and can stretch out the entire length of the sofa. It easily fits 3 adults. A little pricier than other sofas, but worth it.

I bought the PB grand comfort sofa in the rolled arms and boxed back and LOVE it. I replaced the PB basic sofa, which was 5 years old and am so glad. This sofa is so comfortable, you just sink in. I bought it in the washed linen ivory and am very happy. The slipcover was easy to put on. It did have some wrinkles but I steamed them out. I really had a hard time making the decision to purchase this sofa as it wasnt as attractive as many of the other PB sofas, but I can now say it was a great addition to our family room and would do it again. I have a couple of the carlisle chairs on each side of the sofa and it looks great. I am a happy customer.

We are really pleased with our PB Comfort Grand. Very comfortable, even for tall people. Slip covers are wrinkled when delivered, but two hours with an iron on the steam setting took care of that. No sagging pillow backs. We did not get the down. We were told when we wash to remember not to dry it all the way. Put it back on damp and it will dry and conform back to the frame. Haven't tried it yet, so we'll see. Looks great in our sunroom overlooking the lake.

This is the most comfortable sofa ever! - It is wide - which I love - already someone fell asleep on it!
I love the idea that I can change colors, since it's slipcovered. It came in a RECORD 3 days of my order - never expected that! - LOVE Pottery Barn products!!

For the price....just OK.

I bought the PB grand sofa and love seat (square edge) in Carmel Twill in May 2010. The twill is holding up OK with everyday wear. The most disappointing feature on the grand sofa is that the back cushions are sagging in the middle and not holding thier shape. They are lumpy and quite frankly, ugly! Also, because the back cushions are so long, if someone sits on the couch and does not sit in the middle of the back cushion, it pops out on either side so much that if someone is at the other end of the couch you have to lean forward to speak to them. Because the love seat cushions are significantly smaller, I have not had the same problems with them. Both sofas are very comfortable and I have found that small stains clean up very well with just warm water if I get to them quickly. Overall, I'm happy with these but not sure that I would purchase this line again due to the cost and the issues with the back cushions. However, PB customer service was absolutely second to none!

Love My PB Grand Sofas

After a year of deciding if I wanted slip-covered sofas or leather, I purchased 2 PB Grand comfort sofas/polyester wrap cushions in everyday suede (pewter) for versatility and comfort. We bought 2 sofas and comfort ottoman to create a modified sectional with chaise. My husband is 6'2" and he loves the size/comfort. One customer recommended 3 cushions for the PB comfort sofa but if you are tall, you would always end up sitting on the edge of the cushions so the 2 cushion is perfect. I didn't have any problems with wrinkled slipcovers or my cushions sagging like the other reviews. The sales rep also recommended when I do wash the slipcovers to wash with oxy clean and put them on the couches damp to prevent shrinkage. We are a family of 3 and 4 cats and they are holding up exceptionally well. Would recommend to all. If I had one request, wish PB would make a PB Grand Comfort Ottoman to match up to the size of the grand comfort sofa/chair.

This couch is amazing. The slip covers are easy to put on, the cushions became soft and comfy in two days and the canvass materials is durable yet comfortable. We have a chocolate lab so we were looking for furniture that looks nice but could withstand some wear an tear and the canvass does just that!

Good for Tall Men

My wife also liked the PB Basic Grand because of the three cushion set up, as opposed to the 2 cushion set up with the PB Comfort Grand. However, we didn't feel it was worth the $300-500 price difference. This couch is very deep and soft. Most importanly, as a 6'2" man I can doze off and nap comfortably without having my feet or head on one of the arms of sofa. This was an absolute requirement while shopping for a sofa. This is our second PB sofa, and once again we're very happy with our purchase.

We bought 2 of these couches last January. I bought the slipcovers in the color stone. The color is very light. Even though it's just my husband & I there are times when I have had to wipe the couch with a wet cloth. When I wipe the couch, the spot where I clean leaves a bigger spot. Even though I have only used water it leaves a pinkest color, so I have little spots all over my couch. I even tried washing the covers in the washer thinking it would even out the spots but it did not! What a waste. Like I said we purchased 2!!!

Great couch, but not great Slipcovers

We got our PB Grand Slipcovered sofa about 8 months ago, and until today we were very happy with our couch. It was very comfy, color was what we wanted. Then I decided it was time to wash the slipcovers, as we have a dog who shares the couch with us. I washed it on cold cycle in the washer, and dried it on the lowest heat setting available, so I didn't expect any issues. The seat & back cushions' slipcovers fit back on just fine, maybe a bit tight, but they fit. Then I went to put the slipcover back on the frame-no joy. No amount of tugging or stretching of the fabric would allow me to get this cover back on the couch. I even left the cover half on overnight thinking it would stretch enough to fit back on in the morning, and again, no joy. So I am happy with the couch, not with the slipcovers, hence the three stars.

good sofa for the money

We purchased the grand sofa about 10 months ago in the down wrap, linen cotton fabric. It arrived with a black mark on one of the slipcovers. (*always ask the delivery men to take the covers out of the bag and inspect them before they leave*) The new slipcover for the seat took awhile to recieve, but surprisingly it was almost an exact color match. Customer service was very helpful and responsive to this matter. We have two children under the age of two, one with acid reflux. This sofa has taken a beating. Lots of washes and plenty of use. It still looks good and is very comfortable. If you purchase this sofa, go the extra $$$ and buy the down wrap. If you don't like wrinkled fabric, don't buy the linen cotton blend. This is a very casual sofa and a good buy for the price. As an interior designer I would recommend it for a keeping room or tv room, not a formal space. I have recommend it to clients.

not worth the money

We are also extremely disappointed in our purchase of the PB Comfort Grand sofa. We ordered it with the upgraded cushions and they sag horribly. We had even thought that we were sent the wrong sofa. The slip covers are sturdy, but we did purchase the denim as opposed to linen or twill. When I tell people that our furniture was purchased from Pottery Barn they seem a bit surprised because the appearance and condition doesn't reflect the reputation of PB quality.

We chose this sofa after a long search. To say we love it is an understatement! It is super deep and has high cushions so your head has a nice place to rest. It's plenty long enough to seat our family of five--together! The slipcovers make it a lifesaver and are a cinch to put on/off. The in-home delivery service was very professional too.

I have had this sofa (and also the love seat) for about 2 months. So far, it has held up pretty well. I have it with the down blend cushions and haven't noticed it sagging at all. It is not quite as soft and comfortable as the one in the store, but i think that over time with wear, it will become more comfortable. The look is classic and it can be made to match with almost any type of decor by just switching the pillows. I do wish, however, that they had made the grand sofa into 3 sectioned pillows instead of 2. Other than that, I would happily purchase this product again.

First know we are huge PB fans, which is why we are sooo unhappy. We have had this sofa & matching chair for months now and are extremely disappointed. The cushions are horrible & sag terribly - nothing like the ones we sat on several times in the store before purchase. We turn them over & switch sides every week hoping this will help & no luck. We even tried to put addition stuffing in the cushions then tried putting addition “stuffing” under the slipcover under the cushions & nothing has made it better. (Perhaps we’ll have to go the same route as another reviewer & purchase form inserts.) They still sag & are uncomfortable. We thought we were getting the perfect everyday sofa from our favorite store but instead we have an expensive pain in the neck that we’re embarrassed to have friends sit on. Like another reviewer stated, please note that the slipcovers come in a separate bag & are extremely wrinkled that stay that way for quite some time even with steaming.

The first time this sofa was delivered, the linen slipcovers we had ordered were wrinkled because they had been thrown (not folded) into a plastic bag. So we sent the sofa back.
The second time this sofa was delivered, the linen slipcovers had been placed on the sofa because I refused accept delivery othewise, at which point the slipcovers had been torn. So we sent the sofa back.
The third time this sofa was delivered, we ordered it with brushed canvas slipcovers to avoid problems created by linen slipcovers, at which point we finally got a decent sofa after having waited far too long.
By the way, we replaced the seat cushions a couple of months later with high density foam at our own expense. Otherwise, the support was seriously lacking.

I ordered this sofa in stone. I received it in 3 weeks instead of the usual 8 weeks. I was surprised delivery did not include putting on the slipcovers. I had to do this myself. This is the most comfortable sofa. My family of four and small dog all fit nicely. We are in Love with this sofa!
