Quality, price, style, service ---- all of these factors were met when buying Pottery Barn's Basic sofa with the down stuffing. I'm so pleased to give this sofa a good home.

My Sofa

I have purchased several things from Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids and have always been satisfied. I'm really not satisfied or happy with the PB sofa I recently purchased. The sofa itself is fine, but the slipcover is sloppy. The material is good quality but the fit is not good. It looks like I threw a sheet over my couch. I carefully read the directions and followed step by step on how to put on the slipcover. I thought for the money I spent it should look like a crisp new couch and instead it looks like an old run down couch.

I am not thrilled with the way this sofa looks in my playroom. I replaced a leather sofa with this one and it seems so much smaller. This slip-cover doesn't stay in place so it looks sloppy. I'm going to give it to my daughter and she will love it,but I need something longer,higher in back,deeper seat,and with a stationary covering.

great sofa

This sofa is basic; great size, not too heavy, very comfortable, great looking. It is perfect for a busy, rough and tumble family like ours. Only problem was it was ordered as a "quick ship" and was not so quick. Slip cover is great though, soft, easy to put on and take off, and washable. It's a hit.

I have purchased 5 couches in my married life. This will be my last with the exception of purchasing one for our basement when it is finished. Cannot say how comfortable this is.

We have two PB Basic sofas in honey - one with the down cushions and one with the polyester. We actually prefer the polyester. They look much nicer. The down is very soft/smooshy so it doesn't look as nice as the polyester which is a bit firmer and easier for people to get up when they are sitting down.

My New Sofa

I have never bought a new sofa before. All of mine have been consignment finds. I decided when we moved into our dream home that I owed it to myself to buy a new sofa. I have long admired the Classic PB Sofa. Boy was it worth the wait. I am in love!!!!! It is so comfortable and beautiful in my country modern living room. It is perfect!

This sofa is a perfect size - comfy and well made. Also love the slipcover as it makes it easy to clean but to redecorate. I have the chair also and would defintely recommend them both.

I ordered the PB Basic sofa and I love it! It is so comfortable, fits into my room beautifully and is high quality! People ask me how I can buy a sofa without even sitting in it first. Well, my response is always the same - I have NEVER purchased anything from Pottery Barn that I was unhappy with. I didn't hesitate - and I was right! LOVE MY NEW SOFA!!!

I really LOVE the new sofa. It's exactly as pictured and it sits well (although it was softer than I expected for a new sofa). The crew that brought it was exceedingly professional -- they'd clearly handled Pottery Barn merchandise before, because they knew just how to put on the slip cover.
It's a little scary buying a sofa online, but I'm very pleased.
P.S. The most frustrating thing is trying to post this comment. It's not my problem that you have multiple people with my name! There are only so many iterations I'm willing to do through.

I am so delighted with my sofas. So comfortable, stylish and just the right size. I was nervous that the denim would be too dark but it's fantastic. We're spending more time together as a family because everyone loves to sit on them.

Has held up so well

We've had our PB Basic sofa and chair for ten years. It's in great shape, despite lots of hard living by two teenage boys. An excellent investment!
We are still using our original twill slip covers.

When I first saw this sofa I knew that it was exactly what I was looking for. I searched for over a year for one that was compatible both in comfort and look. I could not find one that was even close to this, I finally bought this, and am so glad that I did. It is so comfortable, its look is beautiful, and being able to remove the slipcover and wash it is an added plus. For anyone who is debating to buy this sofa or not, don't waste your time looking for something similar. Go ahead buy it you won't be disappointed.
