Comfyest couch EVER!

I have looked at this couch for years & my husband always said NO, I do not want a slip covered couch. Finally after remodeling our kitchen & making a small space for a couch & a tv with a gas fireplace . I ordered the pottery barn basic sofa;my husbands first words were wow! I had no idea this would be so comfy, it does't look like a "slip covered" couch, I like it. We use this couch daily, sometimes we have our morning coffe while watching the news. We have a very expensive sofa in our living room that has not been used since the new couch arrived. Pottery barn did an excellent job with delivery as well. extremely proffessional delivery men. I can't wait to order a darker slip cover for the sofa & pillows for fall. I love the idea of changing it out for the seasons. You won't be dissappointed with this sofa order one today!

I read how the down cushions need refluffed to keep shape so I went with the polyester. It is impossible to sit on sofa for long, as it sinks in and you get very uncomfortable. And this is only one month into owning sofa. Also I would like to add that I only weigh 120 lbs.
I have to flip sofa cushions both back and bottom every day.
Nice sofa if all you want to do is look at it!
I cannot imagine what this sofa will be like in a year.
Rethink it!

Cheaply made and overpriced

Purchased this sofa in a sectional 3 years ago and am very disappointed in the comfort and quality.
The joints to the sectional do not stay togethor and are constantly sliding apart leaving holes in the couch in which to fall into. The slipcovers do not fit well and I am constantly tugging at them to fit evenly over the sofa. They also do not wash well either.
The quality of the foam is very poor as well and it is not a comfortable couch to lie down on and watch a movie.
I would not recommend this sofa to anyone.

I absolutley love my slipcovered couch and chair and ottoman in WHITE, im very nervous to clean it, can someone please give me some tips on how to get stains out and what to use to keep the white white, other than that, I love everything pottery barn has to offer..

I have owned the PB basic sofa now for 3 years, the covers wear well and wash easy, the structure however leaves to be desired. I do not have dogs, kids that jump on the sofa or any overweight people sitting on it but the couch is sagging badly, the pillows are just like new but the underlying structure is very cheaply made. Very dissapointed at this pricepoint! I also own the idendical looking sofa from Ikea for 6 years and there is no sagging there!

The PB Basic sofa is just perfect. It fits nicely in my family room and is very comfortable. I picked the walnut color, and it is a great neutral.

After much, much deliberation I bought the PB Basic sofa. I selected it because of the slipcovers and the reputation of the manufacturer. I generally like the PB products I have bought, so seemed like a good choice. The slipcovers seem marvelous, fit very well, wash nicely. The frame seems less than stellar, not very solidly built. The cushions seem sturdy enough. I suppose for the money it is fine but wouldn't buy another.

I just received my PB Basic Sofa in Organic Cotton Canvas. It is so comfortable! I was very nervous with this purchase since the store did not have the sofa out on the floor in my fabric of choice to look at. It looks fabulous! A bit of the relaxed look I wanted but also clean lined. I ordered poly cushions by store's recommendation. Slipcover was easy, breezy to put on. Wait was a bit much (9 weeks). Everyone from the sales clerks to the store manager at my local PB went above and beyond to make me happy! Way to go PB I commend you for that personal touch as you are one of the few stores left that do care about your customers! All I can say is thank you.

I have had my PB Basic sofa for a few months now. Love the style, color, and the fit in the room. But, couldn't get one stain out of the cushion so turned it over. Now, when the dog is on the sofa, will cover it with a towel. I thought the brushed canvas would be far more durable and stain resistent.

A couch to sink into when you get home from work

I've owned this couch and matching ottoman since 2004. It's been with me in 4 homes and traversed several states! It is a very well constructed, sturdy, comfortable product. The fabric slipcover has weathered the years wonderfully. It cleans up with no remaining stains when I've spilled something on it. If you are willing to pay a little more for quality, this will definitely last you years and years.

Classic and well made!

We have had our PB Basic sofa for 15 years and its still in great shape!. We are only on our second set of slip covers,
which wash beautifully. We shipped it to Hawaii from California, we loved it so much! . I cannot recommend this sofa enough!

This couch is a great option if you have an old house with small rooms like I do. It is sized perfectly. I love to change my decor and have alot of fun changing out the slipcovers to reflect my mood, the weather, whatever...

worth every penny!

I purchased this sofa about 5 years ago. I loved the look and found it to be both practical and comfortable. The slipcovers wash beautifully! I have 3 children and purchased this in white (yes, white!) I've never owned a more durable or easy to maintain piece of furniture and would HIGHLY recommend this sofa!!!

I had considered the PotteryBarn slipcovered basic sofa for my sunroom for about a year. It had the casual look I wanted and the sierra red seemed the perfect color, but I was hesitant to buy a sofa online.
Finding nothing else I liked as well locally, I finally purchased the PB sofa. I could not be more pleased. The quality seems excellent, it is very comfortable and is a perfect addition to my room.

The couch seemed much more "perfect" in terms of comfort when we tried it in the store. While it is comfortable to sit on, the back is just alittle short, so when we lean back, it hits the back of the neck and one's head is not well supported.

Best couch for comfort and value!

My experience with ordering was very smooth. Good customer service, good co-ordination for the delivery and set up. I LOVE this couch. It is very comfortable, and the perfect size for an average size room. Having three cushions makes it easy to seat three adults with room to spare. Durable, and easy to put on slip cover. It is a winner!
