Painted American Flag
This substantial wooden flag is made entirely of recycled pine and then painted for a rustic finish. 50" wide x 27" high Detailed with a distressed painted finish and sealed with lacquer for moisture resistance. Hangs or mounts to the wall with the included D-rings.

This wooden flag is a large, quality piece of artwork and looks great on the wall. I had looked online at similar items, but most were much smaller and I wanted to make sure this was a focal item in the room. I got exactly what I wanted and am very happy with my purchase!

Just received the painted flag. WOW!! Flag is impressive in size and the colors are a muted shade, not overwhelming bright. Love the distressed finish and the varying cracks in the board which gives the impression of being "old." Flag will be displayed alone on a wall with accent lights to illuminate its beauty. Thanks PB for another fine product!

Display properly

I finally got it and it is impressive. I'm looking for advice on displaying though. Just 2 questions:
1) Can I display this Flag artwork with other framed art on the same wall?
2) Or should it be by itself?

I ordered this in September and finally it arrived!!!! I love this piece of wall art. It is designed to look faded and worn and that is just how it looks. This piece looks like it was left outside for a long time. Colors are faded and the wood is cracked.
I'm not sure what the other buyers were expecting but reading some of the comments it didn't look like they thought it would.

Just know that this piece is not perfect in it's looks. But it is very Pottery Barn.

After waiting since July 3, finally received the flag in the mail. While it is nice, the coloring is completely different then the one in the pictures. Very disappointing, since the photo listed would work perfectly in my home.

I received the Painted American Flag today after waiting over 4 months. While it is substantial in size, I agree with other customers in that the colors are completely different than the catalog/online pictures. The white stripes are a gold/brown color, the blue and red very muted.
I am going to have my husband hang this in the hope that with time, we will enjoy the more muted colors. Please change your photos to represent what this flag really does look like! Thanks.

Perfect Art for Above a Queen Bed

I love the vintage look this flag has, however, I feel the colors are misrepresented in the photograph - the blue and red are much lighter (looks like it was left in the sun and naturally faded) and the white is more of an ivory/creme. The flag was easy to hang with two people and was perfect for above the guest bed. This room has the Mason collection and I opted for this instead of the headboard. Like other reviewers my flag came with several cracks in the wood boards running a majority of the length. I don't see this a big issue as I think it adds to the rustic look. Guests are always impressed it is painted on wood planks - it makes the flag more prominent and commanding as it extends 2" from the wall. The stripes do carry around the corner for a finished look.

We received the painted American Flag just in time - our 2 boys are coming home this summer - one from Afghanistan, and one from Ft. Carson, Colorado. We wanted to place this wooden flag on our front porch in honor of them. We really like this item, but it came cracked in 2 places, and we are not sure if it should be like this. We already put it on our wraparound front porch wall, but my husband and I were upset that it had 2 big cracks in the wood grain.

The wood was split in the middle when it arrived. PB arranged for UPS to pick up it the next morning. We chose not to get a replacement due to the quality of the wood.

color is faded

the photos in the catalog and even online show the colors more vibrant on the flag, even though it is distressed. The red on the stripes of the flag are a faded red....its OK, but not what I expected.

This flag is quite large and looks beautiful in our entry way above the front door and transom. It matches my Americana decorative style and the wood is sturdy and has the perfect worn finish. I love it! This is a great buy and I would definately recommend it.

I was so excitied to receive the wooden flag. It was on back order ,so there was a bit of a wait. It was not at all like the photos online. The colors were more beige then white. Dull instead of viberant. It was made to look antiqued as if the paint was worn off. But the paint on mine was actually coming off in chunks. The best thing about this was PB returned it with no problems at all.

This was beautiful when it arrived but over time a large crack has developed across the flag. Its very noticeable to the point where you can see through the flag to the wall behind it. I had to take it down. Very disappointing because it was expensive and I really liked it.

Though fairly attractive at a distance, the flag was more faded than the picture, and was on two pieces of wood poorly joined together. Overall it was not the quality I expected.

Beautiful painting but wooden planks separate and cause cracks in the painting. I sent the original one back when it arrived with cracks. Pottery Barn sent a replacement that arrived in good condition with no cracks but after hanging on the wall for approximately one week, the planks began to separate and now there are cracks noted throughout the painting.

the flag is a nice large piece of art but the colors are not true to the picture. The white is more of a brown/tan.
