Napoleon(R) Rush Seat Chair
Our signature Napoleon(R) Chair is crafted using centuries-old finishing techniques. Skilled artisans craft each from solid hardwood, sanding and staining the frame by hand before weaving on a natural rush seat. Side Chair: 20.5" wide x 19.5" deep x 37" high Armchair: 23" wide x 21" deep x 37" high Expertly crafted from solid hardwood with a curved backrest and a woven rush seat. Wood swatches, below, are available for $25 each. We will provide a merchandise refund for wood swatches if they're returned within 30 days. We bought two of these chairs to go with the Eastlake table. Perfect fit. They are compact with a pleasing design and comfortable seat.

Buyer Beware - Drop in Quality!

I just ordered 3 more of these chairs in antique white to complete my set that I had purchased a few years ago. I was extremely disappointed when the chairs arrived and did not match the rest of my set. There is a big difference in quality. I'm assuming they switched low cost manufacturers overseas to save in costs, however they are still charging customers the same price. The paint color is different and the current chairs are not nearly as distressed as the older versions. I'm really disappointed and feel like I received 'knock off' versions of my original chairs.

Dining chairs

I bought new Tuscan Chestnut stain dining table and needed the same chairs with it. I was very excited for the Napoleon(R) Rush Seat Chair (Tuscan chestnut stain). The pictures (set of dining table and chairs) also shows the chairs are the same color as the table. But I am very disappointed when they arrived after two month shipping. The actual chairs are much lighter than the table. So sad about the Pottery Barn products.

The chairs look even better in person than in the pictures. Comfortable and sturdy. I plan to buy the armchairs in the future.

I ordered 4 side chairs & 2 arm chairs. I received 5 of the 6 chairs I ordered and they were all either dented and/or scratched AND one had a broken leg. Very poor quality and not comfortable.

Couldn't be happier with the Napoleon chairs. Ordered both the armchair and the sidechair styles sight unseen to blend with other furniture and were pleased how the honey finish color was true to the catalog photo. Arrived quickly and amazingly packaged. Added PB chair pads (color also true to catalog) fit great and add comfort. Well done, PB!

I made an addition to a set of chairs we already had. Great product and solid! The honey oak is real wood so no chipping of paint like others seem to complain about. They go very well with the harvest table we have had from Pottery Barn. I am a huge fan of Pottery Barn furniture and this is a great deal if you get some type of coupon to balance the cost of shipping.

We already had two of these chairs and decided to get another one. I don't think I would buy them again because the finish on the chairs is easily marred. Any belt seems to rub off the finish.

Terrible Chair

I'm not sure why people here are raving about this chair. I purchased 6 of these and am completely disappointed. They are the most uncomfortable and stiff dining chairs I have ever owned. In addition, the chair is terribly small. I'm a rather small male (5'9, 165lbs) and my behind barely fits on this chair.
I can't comment on quality since I've owned these about 1 week and will be returning them.

I guess its a statement when you have been buying from Pottery Barn for so long that when you replace something -- unfortunately the "color" has altered over the years. While the chair is the exact same, the shade is much darker serving only to remind my dinner guests of the story of the heavy set friend who broke the original. :)

I purchased 2 of the arm chairs and 4 of the side chairs for the family dining room when you first started selling them. I can't remember how long it has been - I would estimate 15-20 years = Classics with unbelievable style longevity in this day and age.
They are still as comfortable and solid as the day they were purchased.
Furthermore the finish (blond?) and caning still look like new.

Great looking, good size (bigger than I thought). Only concern is washing. Was told by a PB customer service rep not to use water, wax, silicone or soap. What else is there?! Other than that am very happy with it. Purchased the Napoleon Rush chairs as well. Great looking set.

Durable and kid friendly

I originally purchased these chairs in green to go in my kitchen 5+ years ago and they still look AMAZING!!!
I recently sanded and painted an off-white for an updated look using Benjamin Moore oil paint.
These chairs have held up so well with a rough 5 year old and 8 year old using on a daily basis.
I am looking to buy the barstools to match since these chairs lasted so well.
For cleaning, you can unscrew the rush seat and gently wash in kitchen sink. A standard chair cushion for more comfort and less wear on rush seat works well for us.

I am very satisfied with my purchase of the Napoleon Rush weave chair.
It feels very sturdy and is well made and with a very nice finish on it.
I took the suggestion of the small cushion to protect the wear of the 'rush' and it looks and feels really nice.
