Another great addition from the PB family

As always, Pottery Barn has come through! This headboard, which we purchased in the mahogany stain, looks excellent in our master bedroom. We have a subtle gold accent wall and the headboard just pops. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for quality and comfort.

I have an older home with dark wood paneled walls and oak hardwood floors, which makes the room quite dark. This headboard tied in the dark wood of the walls and floors but the the upholstered insert helps to brighten up the room. The design of the headboard was simple and works well with my existing furniture. It is a perfect - Thanks

The wood headboard is not the same color as the brown stratton bed. Also the style is very different. They look awful together!

Looks very nice, although the fabric that comes on this headboard is a little blah for me (don't like neutrals much). What does appeal to me is that when the spirit moves me I can replace the fabric with something more appealing to me.

I ordered this for my daughter and we love it. The ability to change out the upholstery allows her to have a lot of flexibility in decorating and... redecorating her room. I used a PB sheet the first time I covered it and it was easy. I was done in an hour. Everybody should enjoy the fun of owning this headboard!!!

Love the headboard. The flax colored material that came with the headboard was perfect. I love the idea that the panel can be removed and the material changed with the seasons or just redecorating to given the room a new look.

Pottery Barn Does It Again!

We bot the mahogany finish for our guest bedroom and are very pleased with the quality. The fabric looked a bit dull with our wall color so we replaced it in a jiff. We left the PB fabric on and just wrapped the new fabric over top using a staple gun. We can easily re-place it if we decide to change the color scheme in the room. I would recommend using a solid color fabric or one with an all over pattern if you get a queen or king size. Very few fabrics come wider than 54" and you will need about 63" wide for a queen.
The headboard is very smart looking. The package with instructions and bolts was even attached with a red PB ribbon! Such a thoughtful reminder of why we all love Pottery Barn!

Love the headboard. Fit perfectly to my bedframe. I am excited at the possibility of someday putting different fabrics on it. But right now I love it. The in-home delivery staff was fab.

I've been using this headboard for several weeks. It makes quite a statement in the room; it's quite impressive. I like that the fabric can be changed. However, I wish Pottery Barn would have offered the headboard with more fabric options and colors. The padding is quite firm; if you are looking for something to cushion you while reclining in bed, I'd opt for a different headboard. I chose this because of limited space as my room couldn't accommodate one of the thicker, tufted headboards which need a 5 inch or so clearance. Also, its simple lines make it adaptable to any room decor. I would advise customers to order the adapter kit, just in case. Even though my bed frame is relatively new, when the headboard was delivered, I found that it needed the adapter to be attached to the frame. All in all, it's a beautiful piece of furniture that lives up to Pottery Barn's fine quality standards.

Interchangeable headboard

I love the fact that this headboard fabric is interchangeable. I didn't change the fabric since it was neutral enough with my color scheme. Great asset. I wish they would mention it more in the text. I didn't know until I called to ask about the product.

We purchased this headboard for our NYC apartment -- it looks wonderful. Great quality, very sturdy (and heavy). It is not too bulky and fits perfectly in our small space. The padding on the headboard makes it easy to sit up and read/watch TV -- looks really great!

Endless possiblities with this headboard

What a fantastic idea; a headboard that allows you to change the fabric to change with your bedroom decor. I personally like the natural look that it comes in (ordered the Mahogany). This headboard makes your room feel grand! Arrived perfectly packaged, not a scratch and very easy to assemble; we had it on in about 30min.

Purchased the queen, it arrived in five weeks. Current fabric is a bit plain, so I plan to re-cover it rather quickly...
Details about how it works...the panel comes off via 10 screws. The fabric overlaps to the backside of the panel by one inch on all sides. This inch attaches via a continuous velcro strip: the loop side of the velcro is located on the wood; the fuzzy side is sewn to the fabric. To attach a new fabric, you could purchase more fuzzy velcro, but I'm planning to first try to hand or machine stitch my fabric to the Pottery Barn fabric.
For a queen, if you have no repeat, no direction, nothing to center, you could manage with one yard of 60" wide, or 1 2/3 yards of 44 or 54 inch wide, so this is a very inexpensive way to add a new layer of fabric to your room, or to change it up for a new season.

I really like this headboard and the fact that the fabric can be changed. But I don't expect that change to come too easily. The bed will have to be moved out of place to remove the screws in the back of the headboard to release the fabric panel. I hope this is not too difficult, but I won't be trying any time soon.

I couldn't decide whether to get an upholstered headboard...or a wood headboard. The Montgomery Headboard was the BEST of both worlds. I love it, and best of all, my skeptical designer thought it was great!!

I purchashed this headboard with the Stratton Bed last spring and it looks so beautiful. The upholstery on the upholstered headboard can be easily changed out to add extra texture or color to match or accent your current interior design fabrics. Nice to know you can change things up without a lot of expense or effort. Awesome product.
