Great Start of a Bathroom Remodel

I found this sconce on sale after Christmas and loved it. I had a tired, old bathroom from the 20's and this is what it needed to update it and make it beautiful again. I ended up ordering a few other pieces from the Mercer collection to go with it. I love it!

These sconces look great in our vintage 1940 bathroom. We mounted one on either side of a Pottery Barn medicine cabinet, pointing upward. I like the light produced that way better than when they are mounted pointing downward. Very happy with this product and with PB's overnight shipping, which allowed us to get the fixtures quickly when we were in a pinch!

High Quality Lighting

We are extremely pleased with the quality of these sconces. The design is simple, yet elegant. And, we love how they sit close to the wall. They fit perfectly in our smaller bathroom. We would definitely purchase lighting from Pottery Barn again! (Note: We did have to purchase a custom remodel box from an electrician in order to fit the smaller dimension of the mounting plate. The standard rectangular remodel boxes from the large hardware stores didn't work. However, this was not a flaw with the product, just something we had to work around).

Love the Mercer sconces. We purchased 3 in total - two single and one double sconce. They look terrific in our newly remodeled powder room. We light the so much I'm ordering them for the upstairs bathroom too.

Bought 3 of these in polished chrome to go with your white recessed med. cabinets. Looks so great and is great quality at a terrific price. My new bath looks ready for a Pottery Barn photo shoot. Love it.

I recently bought two Mercer sconces in chrome for my master bath remodel and the entire process was great. They arrived quickly despite the Christmas holidays, are elegant and stylish, and look lovely in my bath. I loooooove Pottery Barn!.

This is a well made and classic light. It does use a small base bulb with a max of 60 watts. This may not be enough light to the right and left of a mirror over a sink in a bathroom. Unfortunately, one of the globes was broken in the box and will need to be returned and replaced.

The sconce is a gorgeous light however I didn't realize from the description that it requires a special light bulb that can only handle a 60 watt light bulb therefore we cannot use it. This type of information should really be included in the product description.

Obviously superior quality

This product is of the highest quality. They were packed perfectly and elegantly. They are designed very well and look very nice. The mounting is superior to many light fixtures of this type. They do not give quite as much illumination as we hoped for - perhaps because they use candelabra bulbs and / or because of the milkglass globes.

I purchased 2 sconces for use in our bathroom. The appearance is great, but installation was difficult. The production control in the finished product is lacking. The bracket that holds the light fixture did not match our electrical box, had to modify. The screw holes were not aligned the same on each fixture. Very difficult to put in screws, they were straight machine screws, should be tapered on end, never did get one in.

simple yet elegant in a bathroom

I recently built a second home and furnished all bathrooms with pottery barn lighting along with bedding, I always find
wonderful items that fit with my style and decor. My one concern with the lighting is that Pottery Barn does not have a way to sell me a replacement globe for my sconces. I broke a globe on my triple mercer sconce and had to purchase an entire lighting to have one globe. I hope in the future there could be a source for replacement parts.
