Maxfield Flatware

Like vintage silverware collected over time, each of our Maxfield Flatware settings combines five different designs united by their 19th-century English origins.Made of substantial nickel with a durable 10-micron-thick silver-plated finish.Tumbled by hand to achieve the warm patina of timeworn heirlooms.Dinner fork and teaspoon are embossed with tiny crowns that call to mind the insignias of grand hotels or family crests.20-piece set includes four 5-piece place settings. Each 5-piece place setting includes salad fork, dinner fork, knife, soup spoon and teaspoon.Store / Internet Only.

Very disappointed....
December 14, 2012
I purchase a lot from pottery barn and in most cases am very satisfied with the majority of my purchases.
I had registered for the entire Maxfield flatware set. I was in love with the design and excited about the set I had picked. That quickly changed when I noticed after one dishwasher cycle the flatware turned a yellowish tone similar to tarnish. The review below says it best...if you want a high maintenance flatware set then by all means purchase this set. If not, look somewhere else.

Very Disaapointed with this flatware
January 2, 2011
I almost never write reviews but I think I should warn other Pottery Barn fans of this flatware set.
I am a tried-and-true Pottery Barn fanatic. I have never before been so dissatisfied with a purchase from the store or online. I was, however, very very disappointed with this purchase. Although it says it is dishwasher safe - it is really not. The flatware does NOT do well in the dishwasher and seems to tarnish almost immediately after cleaning. It simply does not do well with day-to-day use. If don't mind a set of flatware that needs a lot of babying, hand-washing, and cleaning (for the tarnish) - then you'll be ok. If you want a set of flatware that looks great no matter what it goes through with minimal care - then you should pick something else.

Love it!
October 3, 2010
I've had this set of flatware for years now and I love it. I'm even back to replace some of my teaspoons that have managed to walk off. Warning, though, these guys do tarnish but a quick swipe with some Wright's will do the trick nicely.

Flatware for the long haul
May 23, 2010
We've owned this set for more than a year and it looks just as good now as it did out of the box. The pieces feel good in the hand and are pleasantly heavy. It mixes beautifully with our vintage silver and china collections.
