I had read others' comments that this rug sheds a lot, and so ordered two with some wariness. I got them for either side of the bed, and so far (6 weeks) there has been little, if any, shedding. They are plush and very nice underfoot. The color seems to be a blend of blue, gray, and even a bit of teal. I am pleased with this purchase.

All my rugs are from Pottery Barn but my most recent purchases were 3 Maren Persian Rugs for the master bedroom. They were perfect and of good quality. My only concern was that I needed a 4'x 6' for the front of the bed because the 3' x 5' looked to small and the 5' x 8' was too big, but I chose to stay with the smaller. They match with the comforter and pillows that I bought as well from P. Barn.

Love the rug, adds a lot to my room and goes with the color blue I have on my walls. Don't know what kind of bed covering to get to go with it though. It has such a strong presentation on it's own, I don't want the room getting too fussy.

I was disappointment in the rug. It was not what i expected. I thought the blue color of the background would be darker. The rugs looked really faded and it was hard to tell the design pattern. I did not like them and returned them.

No shedding here..have had over a month. It is more gray than blue. Little disappointed in that..but everyone likes the color.

I love the rug - the usually Pottery Barn high quality. I wish it were a little more blue than gray-blue, but it's beautiful nonetheless.

The Maren Persian-style rug is very attractive,it even looks nicer than in the catalog. It is quite plush and really is a wonderful addition to our home. It also sheds at an amazing rate-I am worried it will soon be bare in certain areas.The paperwork included did say to expect some shedding, I hope this is what we're experiancing. If this proves true then I would be comfortable giving it 5 stars-time will tell!

I cannot be happier with this rug, it is so beautiful, so soft under your feet, nice and thick and the colors are exactly what I wanted. The representation on the internet is very true to how the rug looks in person.

This rug is gorgeous! The colors and so perfect- I needed something with gray/blue and cream. I bought it for my bathroom and it is stunning! Very well made and durable, as well.

Pretty rug but ours was shedding like CRAZY

We have another, very similar rug from Pottery Bran and it also shed a bit at the start. But then it stopped shedding like they said it would. Not so with our 9x12 Maren rug.
The Maren just kept on shedding. And shedding. Since it arrived (about four months ago) great drifts of pale blue fluff have filled our house each day (despite daily sweeping and hoovering) and the lint trap in our dryer has also been full of the stuff. Fortunately, Pottery Barn has a great return policy and we have been able to send this baby back.
It really is a lovely and soft rug but it would be best for a low traffic or very fuzz-loving home.

The Rug is Falling Apart.

My wife and I recently purchased two rugs from Pottery Barn. One is exceptional. The other, a Maren Persian Style Rug, unfortunately, is falling apart, loosing pile and has exposed bare spots on the edges.
We would greatly appreciate a replacement. We have purchased several products from Pottery Barn in the past and been extremely pleased with our purchases, but this rug is extremely poor quality and literally falling apart.

Exceptional Rug!

This is an excellent rug! As others have noted, initially the rug will shed fibers; however this lasts for only a few weeks. This is a beautiful rug with exceptional craftsmanship. We've had our rug for over a year now and even with a high volume of traffic it still looks new.

This rug is absolutely beautiful! The quality is excellent and it looks exactly like the sample I got first! I would love it if Pottery Barn had more round rugs so I could put one under my kitchen table!!

The rug was exact what I expected. It worked very well in my living room. I was surpreised to find the package in my porch without notice that would arrive, but I managed to get inside the room.

Okay so firstly I love the rug! However, when I first got it I was a bit disappointed by the shade of blue. It is blue, but more grey blue than it appeared on my monitor. So I ordered another one, and again same thing, although lighter. So I should say it is beautiful, well made, the price is right etc etc. I am glad I bought it.

Beautiful in grey blue and green

I spent a lot of time deciding to buy this rug, especially since I really wanted a true blue and this one is more of a soft grey blue. However, I love the way it looks and have received many compliments on the way it works with my colors. It's comfy and has a nice, soft, light sheen when viewed across the room. The only drawback with wool is that it does shed somewhat, but I am pretty sure it will do this less over time, as my other wool rug did.
The customer service folks really were helpful as well.

I purchased this rug in the 9x12 size for our new dining room, which has pretty neutral furnishings and a beachy feel. The color is perfect...the soothing blues add just the right amount of color to the room. Supersoft as well. Very happy with the purchase!

The rug was more gray than anything else. It looked really dusty and dark so I had to return it. It's strange how it looks so blue in the picture. Return was pretty easy because when I called to get a return authorization number, I was told that UPS would pick it up so I didn't have to do anything. I just had to pack it up again.

The Perfect Rug

The rug is the absolute perfect addition to our Beach House. My color palette is "Sea Glass" and the rug had all the colors in it that went perfect with the decor. It is so well made and really does pull the room together. I was thrilled when I found it online, but, even more thrilled when I received it!
