Manhattan Leather Recliner

With its signature blend of quality, value and style, our Manhattan Leather Recliner is a Pottery Barn classic. The well-padded arms, high back and deep seat resemble furniture used in Manhattan nightclubs of the 1930s. 39" w x 40" d x 36" h {{link path='pages/popups/PB-FG-Manhattan-3.html' class='popup' width='720' height='800'}}View the dimension diagram for more information{{/link}}. {{link path='pages/popups/PB-FG-Manhattan-4.html' class='popup' width='720' height='800'}}The fit & measuring guide should be read prior to placing your order{{/link}}. Best Leather Recliner
August 28, 2011
I bought two of these in the whiskey color. Although these are by far the most expensive chairs that I (or anyone I know) have ever purchased, they are well worth it. The recliners are exceptionally comfortable with the right amount of support. The seat is angled back ever so slightly so that you do not slide off the recliner in the fully upright position (a common problem that I have encountered with leather chairs and couches). In the fully reclined position, this recliner is very comfortable for sleeping. Although the design may not be ideal for a formal living room, these recliners are perfect in a family room, den, or "man cave."

Awesome Recliner
April 5, 2011
We just received our new recliner and it is really beautiful! The color (whisky) is perfect. The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars - would be much better if the recliner action offered a straight back setting and also, it is a bit difficult to recline.

I LOVE this chair!!!
March 1, 2011
I have wanted this chair for over 10 years, and finally took the plunge and bought it for myself. I don't know why I waited so long! I'm 5'5", so I don't feel lost in it like some big leather chairs. My only complaint is that the back is rather short, so I can't rest my head when sitting up straight. This is lessened when reclined and I sink down in it a bit, though, and the shorter back allows it to take up less room. The chair sits in the corner of my home office with a lamp, rug, side table and blanket, and it is the one thing in my house that I unapologetically call MINE. After the kids go to sleep, I can continue to work in a comfortable environment. The Hazelnut color also blends well with my Espresso stain PB Bedford desks. The quality is apparent and I am sure I will have it a very, very long time.

Discolored leather
January 13, 2011
I've owned the chair for 2 1/2 years. very comfortable. I'm 5'9" and it's perfect fit. However, the leather has turned to whiteish color wherever your skin comes in contact (head, arms, etc.) I question the quality of the leather because of this.

Classic and versatile
November 12, 2010
We saw this recliner in the store about 8 years ago and finally bought it last summer in the caramel color. First, it is top quality--the leather is very soft and after a year and a half of everyday use, it looks virtually brand new. The seat cushion does show some creasing--which looks appropriately like worn leather, NOT like worn out furniture. The caramel color is warm and pleasing and goes well with our neutrally decorated living room. My husband is 6'2" and like the other reviewer said, when fully reclined, his feet hang over the edge. In general though, the chair is big enough to get very comfortable in for a movie or an evening with guests. It is totally classic, would easily transition into a more formal living room, an office/library, or as a chair in a bedroom. This chair adds an extra layer of character and sophistication to our living room and we've received dozens of compliments on it. I would recommend it without hesitation!

An OK chair
July 31, 2010
I was really excited to receive this recliner as a gift for my husband, returning from Afghanistan. It is a beautifully crafted chair, except for one thing...it is not intended for tall(er) people. I am only 5'5 and my feet hang off the end when I have it fully reclined. For the money I spent on this chair, I would expect it to be a little bigger.

Chair worth its price
April 13, 2010
I fell in love with the manhattan leather recliner the first time I saw it but didn't want to pay that much. So, I spent the next year looking for something similar, that I liked as much, and was cheaper. I found lost of chairs that were cheaper but nothing ever compared to pottery barn's chair. I finally gave in and purchased it 5 months ago and I'm still kicking myself for not buying it sooner! I absolutely love it and anytime anyone comes over, they love it and ask me about it!
It's a classic piece of furniture that I plan on using for many many years to come and although right now it's in my living room, I know it could look great in many other rooms too if I ever want to move it.
