Shedding is unbearable

This rug is gorgeous. I was swooning over this rug for well over a year and was so happy to finally get it. We got the 9x12 for our family room. We've had it about 4 months now and the shedding is so bad I am really regretting my purchase. We have to vacuum daily just to keep it under control. It leaves fibers ALL over our downstairs which is dark tile flooring and you can see it everywhere. It gets on every surface of our dark furniture as well. Balls of fibers are everywhere. Forget about sitting on the rug, you will be completely covered. We just had Christmas and it is HORRIBLE, from having all the gifts opened on the rug, the fibers are all over everything. I just spent an hour cleaning the entire downstairs trying to get it back under control. This is all with us vacuuming very frequently. It's very frustrating and I would expect more from a rug I spent over $1k on. Disappointed!

I don't usually buy this sort of thing without seeing it in person, but decided to take a chance based on the photo alone. Although I was leaning more towards a denser silkier feeling rug, and not the wooly-wool type, I have to admit that in this case I am pleased with it. The rug is in our bedroom so has a nice thick soft feel when stepping onto it when getting out of bed.
As for the colors and design, it is very compatible with the room color (light blue). I had a hard time finding a reasonably price persian style rug in blue.
So this rug hit the mark on two scores.

Shed like crazy.....

I had couple's meeting at my home on the first day i purchased this rug. One of my friend had black pants on that day and told me this rud shed alot. Her black pants turned white after she set down on the rug. I was so embarrassed and told her it's because it's new rug. After my friends have left, my hudsband started to vaccumm because the sheds were all over the hardwood floor. After the floor, he vaccummed rug and we were so upset about this rug. we empted the waste bag (sheds) 5 times and it still filled the waste bag. We thought something is wrong with it and decided return the rug...
P.S. We got another rug at the same day. That rug is even worse than this one... we returned both...-.-

Love this rug

I really love this rug. It compliments and pulls together everything in our large family room. The colors are soft and invite you in to relax. My only concern is that it does give off a lot of fibers and they show up as the sun hits the wood flooring.

This rug is beautiful and very soft. The color is a little on the aqua side, just what I was looking for. It is thick and very good quality.

Soft with a hint of color

Perfect accent to bring some color to our Dining Room. Love that the colors are somewhat muted but still add color and style. The blue is slightly robin's egg blue and the creams and tans are light to balance it nicely. The brown and rusty red accents give it some depth. Some shedding but nothing too bad and its still new. Love the traditional but updated style it gives the room. Thank you PB!

Lovely rug, shedding is dissappointing

This rug looks wonderful, but I am very sad to say how disappointed I am with the excessive amounts of shedding. I always try to focus on the positive side of things, but this rug sheds worse in one day than my two white dogs do in a week. It looks great against my dark hardwoods, but although I am following all of the care directions and vacuuming regularly (I even vacuumed the entire 8x10 by hand with the attachment) - every day I come home to a 'layer' of rug shed on my hardwoods. It has been five weeks and I am yet to see it subside - I vacuum it at lest three times a week if not more. I am going to give it 8 more weeks and then throw in the towel and move it to our carpeted gameroom upstairs and start my search over.

Love the rug, but don't like the mess it makes. It sheds fibers terribly. Not sure if it is just at first, but I really notice it on my dark hardwood floors.

I bought the 9x12 for our living room. I ordered this rug because of how crisp and clear the colors look online. The colors are definitely more blended and muted. I have fallen in love with this characteristic. The muted colors allow the rug to fall in the back ground to our furniture colors which are caramel, cream and chocolate brown. The effect is a warm, rich and inviting room. This is a beautiful and well made rug that we will no doubt enjoy for years to come.

Love, love this rug! Kudos to the designer. We have this rug in our living room, but I would have one in every room if I could. I just love the colors. Soft and beautiful and it goes with so much. It does shed a bit, but never enough to bother me and it gets better over time. One of my favorite PB purchases ever.

I had been looking for a rug for our master bedroom for a while and was drawn to this one for the large size (10'x14'). Previously we had two 5'x8' rugs and it didn't create the coziness we were looking for. The colors are absolutely beautiful, muted and the rug has a bit of luster to it, and it feels great underfoot. We have mission style furniture and a PB leather chair and ottoman in our master and this anchors everything. Also, the guys that delivered and laid it down were fantastic; they tried it in both directions for me even though it meant moving some other furniture. I could not have had better service.

This is a beautiful rug. The colors compliment and update my existing furniture and wall color. It works well as an anchor to the living room. It is soft and my kids love laying on it.

I had read the reviews before purchasing this rug, but decided that the previous reviewers were "just picky". We purchased this rug 9 months ago for our family room. I have given it more than enough time and the rug still sheds. I can't even let my children, ages 7 and 8, sit on the rug or they are covered with so much wool that I need to have them remove their shirts immediately to launder. The rug may look beautiful, but the shedding has made it unbearable. We were planning on furnishing our new home with pottery barn furniture, but given our first experience with this rug we are concerned about the quality. I would not recommend this rug, it may look great but it is a nightmare.

This rug makes me very frustrated!! It sheds like crazy all over the house. We find dust balls down the halls, around the corner, in other rooms. Unless you love to vacuum, I would not recommend this rug!! The shedding gets caught in the vacuum as well and clogs it up! This is a nightmare!!

I've owned this rug for almost 6 months and LOVE it! The colors are gorgeous, very soothing but still add a lot to the room. The rug is so soft and, despite being in a high-traffic area (in front of the couch), I've noticed little wear and tear or shedding. I've also been able to remove minor stains fairly easily by dabbing with a wet paper towel. I have the rug in a room with both classic and modern elements and it blends easily with both. I love, love, love PB rugs - for the quality and price, you can't beat them!

My favorite rugs

I recently remodeled and tore down a wall dividing the kitchen and family room. New hardwood floors through out both areas. I wanted new area rugs to help with absorbing sound and most importantly to include my favorite colors and taste. Your Milika Persian Style Rugs have my favorite soft hues of blue and brown.
