The platter is just as pictured. I am using it in my bookcase in the livingroom with a white ceramic pot I purchased from Pottery Barn earlier in the year. It is plenty big for serving also.

To be honest, I'm not sure that I would have purchased this if I'd seen it in the flesh. I'm an international customer (in Australia) and ordered online. It's a pretty plate, but not as attractive in real life as in the photo, and probably not worth the effort of getting it here. But the return postage is unaffordable, meaning I won't be returning it.
The plate sits askew on the table - the sides aren't even or perfectly round. The edges dip in places. The white glaze hasn't perfectly covered the pattern, and so you see part of the earthenware showing through which, again, is not evident in the photo.
I loved the item as it was pictured online. In real life, I'm not sure I plan to keep it. But nor do I know what I can now do with it. The people I might have given it to as a gift would, I think, be annoyed by the same issues as me.

I bought all three platters and I love them. They are much nicer looking than the photo. I think they are hand made so don't expect them to look perfect. Also the round platter will not look even from the side view. I don't mind this because to me it looks more unique. If you buy more than one of the same, they will not stack evenly either. Overall, I really like them and have already used them several times. They match my decor perfectly and I leave one out all the time because it is so pretty. I get many compliments on them!

I recently bought the Juliette rectangular platter. It is beautiful! I gave it as a gift but I wish I ordered one for myself as well!
