Iron Gate Headboard
While touring the French countryside, our designer spotted a wrought-iron garden gate with a weathered patina reflecting years of exposure to the elements. He created this headboard to capture its airy design and rustic appeal. Solidly constructed of rugged square iron tubing. Exclusive rustic-iron matte finish is layered by hand. Finishing technique reveals hints of the colored layer below. The headboard is guaranteed to fit with our PB metal bedframe using the headboard hardware. This is a beautiful headboard. We ordered it on -line and took a chance and couldn't be happier with it. The subtle green tints meshed with the feeling of aged iron are perfect for our room and we both very pleased! The ornate spiral designs also add a touch of quiet sophistication... Great purchase!

My iron gate headboard was delivered/assembled today and I couldn't be more pleased! This headboard has completely transformed our bedroom. For those of you wanting to order this but are fearful it won't fit your standard bedframe - you're right it won't fit. You need to order a "headboard adapter kit" from PB Kids for $12 and you're in business!! Delivery guys were thankful I had the kit ready and waiting. Order this bedframe today!!

My headboard

It took nearly 5 weeks to arrive but was beautiful, just what I wanted. Unfortunately the queen sized headboard did not fit my new queen sized bed frame. It was too large. I am now working with my mattress co. (a $4k investment) to find modification plates that will work. We'll know next week. If it doesn't work I'll have to send it back. The product is lovely, but fails in that it does not fit and PB will not service another companies' frame.

Beautiful but some challenges installing

We love the look and overall quality of this headboard for the price. However, attaching it to our bed frame wasn't a flawless process. We had to widen the frame to its widest setting to accommodate the size of the headboard. That results in the frame being about 1.5 inch wider on each side than our mattress (standard queen). Although the frame still supports the mattress sufficiently because of the frame's cross-members, now we have metal "ankle catchers" sticking out. We wrapped them in rags to cushion them for safety, and the bedskirt hides them, but still...imperfect. Pottery Barn should redesign the headboard to correct this problem. Make it so it fits a standard metal frame when the frame is snug against the mattress.

We are loving the look of our Iron Gate headboard. It is perfect for the space we have and goes with the other PB items that we have in our bedroom.
We did have a slight problem though. We do not have a PB bed frame so when they delivered it, it could not be "hooked up." Apparently, there are special brackets to hold the headboard to a non-PB headboard. The delivery folks told us and we were able to order them but it delayed the installation by about 2 weeks which was a big disappointment. So if you are ordering it for non-PB bed frame be sure to inquire about the special brackets.

I had been considering the iron gate headboard for several months, then finally decided to buy it after receiving a 15% off coupon with my catalog. When it arrived, I was very pleased. It is a lovely headboard and is also well represented in the catalog online. But with one huge exception: it does not fit a universal bedframe. I tried 2 frames and none of the holes lined up. Plus, the headboard is approximately 3" wider than a universal frame. So I called Pottery Barn's furniture division, and they were already aware of the problem. They shipped the matching frame to me and I received it 7 days later. It was a perfect fit. Long story short - if you want this headboard, buy the matching frame! Pottery Barn really should market it as a bed instead of just a headboard and optional frame.

the headboard? is beautiful, but how did you get it to attach to the bedframe. It doesn't fit the 2 Queen sized fram I have and I don't want to have to purchase a PB bedframe... suggestions!?

Fits most bedframes?

I love the headboard - just like the picture. But the description said it fits most bedframes and I do not agree. I'm going to need to get some sort of attachment so that it will fit. It should say fits Pottery Barn bedframes... not most. It's frustrating to know it couldn't be set up immediately only when they delivered it.

Just received my headboard last week. (ordered in July). The workmanship is beautiful. Looks like it came out of an old garden. The only thing is it doesn't line up with a regular bedframe. Need to look into some kind of attachment. Thought I saw those on your site previously but can't find them now.

I really like my new headboard. I thought it was a good price for a very nice quality product. I do have one little complaint, I was not aware that because I purchased a full size headboard I would need an adaptor kit for the bed frame. I was still able to order one from Potttery Barn, but was informed that they were going to stop selling them. Does this mean that they will design future headboards to the correct corresponding bed frame size? Lorraine
