This is the perfect shelf if you want to sit a picture on it. The ledge has plenty of room and you can get different lengths which I really appreciated. Love the dark color, too. Perfect for my living room. Ordered one shelf and loved it so much that I ordered another one!

Good shelf, Difficult installation

Overall I really like the finish and look of the shelf but installation was extremely difficult. We watched the tutorial video online and followed all the directions but hanging the shelf on the wall mounted bracket took my husband a lot of time and effort even with my help. Others commented that installation was a breeze so maybe it was just that we had the 4 foot long shelf that made it more difficult? I love the look of the shelf and now that the shelf is up on the wall, I'm really happy!

Love these shelves! They look fantastic in my family room with family photos in the pottery barn frames. The only bad thing (hence the 4 stars) I have to say is that they didn't match the other shelves that I had previously purchased. Same style, color and size. These are on the yellow side of antique white. The previous purchase are on the whiter side. Now I have to paint all four to match as they are displayed in the same room and I can tell the color difference. My advice if you are planning to buy one or two now and then add on don't. Buy them all at once.

I just got my shelves, and I couldn't be happier. So glad I went with these. They are perfect to place frames and deep enough to place trinkets also.
Very easy to install. Took me 30 minutes to put two of them up and fill them! Great job PB! :)

We ordered the 4' ledge and overall it's a very nice piece. We watched the video on how to install and most of the process is very simple until you have to attach the ledge to the bracket. It was a bit difficult to line up and get locked down which is why I only gave it 4 stars. The good thing is that once it was in place it's very sturdy. Maybe installation is easier with the shorter versions... Besides that, I would definitely recommend it.

Great as a photo ledge or narrow shelf

We put this shelf in my toddler's room to hold the letters spelling out his name, and a few of his small toys and animals. This would also be suitable for holding books or pictures. It was worth paying a little more for this ledge over the Holman picture ledge. The hanging hardware for this one is terrific, you can choose the position of your screws so at least one finds a stud. This makes it nice and sturdy.

Love the shelf but not the color

I was so excited to purchase this shelf to hang some Ecclesiastical items in my master bedroom. Since all the trim in our house is white, I order the shelf one. Much to my surprise the "white" isnt really white but more of an iivory and looks bad since its so close to the trim in the room. Im going to try and exchange for the unfinished one and paint it the same color as the trim.

We purchased these wall ledges after much research. They are the best quality, easiest to hang of all the products we looked at. We are very pleased with the way they look in our home. Be sure to read the deminsions, the ledges are mainly for picture frames, not really deep enough for vases, etc., as the shelves would be.

I love the ledges! They are sturdy and expensive looking, but have an affordable price tag. We used two ledges (both the 3' & 4') to make one large display. The ledges showcase our family photos perfectly. We get tons of compliments!

Have ordered other shelves from Pottery Barn and this one is up to their usual standards. I bought 2 and put them end to end for an extended shelf to hold photos and objects in order to make a display. Their "white" isn't a bright white, so if that is an issue for you i suggest you keep looking, or better yet Pottery Barn starts to make a "bright white". I will say though, that although the woodwork in this room is bright white, the shelf still looks great because all rooms have shadows in them and it really isn't that noticeable, especially when the display is complete. It takes a little mechanical abilty to install, but all in all I was able to do it myself although I did buy a "stud" finder to complete the task.
Very happy with the outcome.

I love these ledges! They are everything advertised and made of good quality. Easy assembly. My only complaint is I thought the 4" meant 4" of ledge room, but with the thickness at the back and front, it really only means 3". I would've appreciated that being made clearer on the website/purchase info as I now can't fit everything I had hoped to.

This adorable shelf is unique and looks great in my hallway. I have it displayed beneath my photos of grandparents, etc. Quality all the way at a good price. Highly recommend it.

I bought three & they were very easy to put up. Look very nice. Saw them elsewhere for much less. Not sure the brands were the same though, so that may account for the price difference.

Purchased two ledges, one 2 feet and one 3 feet. They were easy to install and I love the versatility of the ledges. Can change pictures with ease and no holes left in the wall! Love the dark espresso color and they are very sturdy.
