I thought I'd be different...

I purchased this rug after extensive research about rugs. I watched videos about how these were made and read reviews. I also went to a PB store before the purchase online and looked at/felt the rug in person. In the reviews I read that there was some shedding, but I had NO IDEA THE EXTENT. We have dark hardwood floors and purchased the ivory rug. It may be beautiful for about ten minutes, but we have to sweep and vacuum EVERY DAY! Our house constantly looks messy because of this rug. I would not recommend this to anyone. The shedding is far beyond what I ever thought. Very disappointing and frustrating...

Beautiful but beware of the synthetic latex back

I brought the Henley Rug in red. Its beautiful. Although it did shed alot for the first 1 or 2 years I didn't mind as everyone always commented on how lovely it looked. However the synthetic latex backing smells which has only got worse over time. The smell has now got so bad that we have had to remove it from the house. So my advise is to check the smell of the synthetic latex backing before you buy it - asthmatics especially please take note.

Terrible Rug - Do NOT BUY

While I love the look, this is a terrible rug as it sheds like crazy, and if lie on it your cloths pick up the carpet fibers instantly. Every day it has balls of carpet fiber from people walking on it. My vaccum is the color of this rug as all of the fibers from the carpet are now sticking to it everywhere!!!!
Looking for another rug and have called Pottery Barn in an attempt to have them take it back.
DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT A RUG THAT SHEDS AND LOOKS LIKE IT IS COMING APART!!!

Sheds too much, looks great when vacuumed

Unfortunately, I need to echo alot of the same comments. We purchased this rug in early November and I've been holding out hope that it would reduce it's shedding.....but it has not. I vacuum it 2-3X per week with our Dyson and it fills it up with fibers every time (9x12 carpet). I have heard of shedding of wool rugs in their initial stages - but this is crazy. Sadly, I have dark dark wood floors underneath and the fibers are travelling and causing those to appear dirty. Disappointed.

The rug looks really nice, but it sheds so much! I have had it for 2 weeks now, and I vacuum it almost daily with a Dyson Animal vacuum, and it is still shedding like crazy. Very disappointed in the quality of this rug. I have never had a quality issue with Pottery Barn before this....

So much shedding!

I purchased this rug because it was such a great deal. Everything about it (color, softness, etc.) was perfect...until we started walking on it. This rug sheds like nobody's business! I had to vacuum every single day - no joke! I did keep it in my living area for about a year because it looked great when I vacuumed but, I have since had a baby and don't have time to vacuum every day. I had it professionally cleaned and that didn't' help. I know you're thinking- how bad could the shedding really be? THAT BAD...REALLY...DON'T DO IT!

Purchased this 2.5x9 runner to match with the 8x10 Henly rug I have in Taupe already. The 8x10 Henley rug sheds quite a bit, but the runner doesn't at all so far. It has a great, plush feel, especially with the premium pad underneath.

I have never purchased online before...always in person. However, I am glad I took the chance and ordered this rug. The quality is excellent! Color matched perfectly with what it appeared like online. Rug is extremely well made and I can tell it will last forever! Very happy!

What a disappointment!

Feel like vacuuming daily? Then this is the rug for you! We've had this rug for almost a year and it still rivals the shedding speed of our black labrador. I was hoping that it was just "new rug" shedding but it's not. I really need to vacuum it every other day, otherwise the loose fibers travel through the rest of the house, onto the furniture, on our clothes, or collect into little tumbleweeds. Unless this rug is going into a room that you never use, I would not recommend, even at the sale price. It is NOT what I expected of Pottery Barn quality.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it looks good when freshly vacuumed, and the strands are densely packed so it's a heavy, thick rug. But it needs to be thick because it's quickly withering away to nothing. I have serious doubts about how long this will last us!

Do not buy this rug! 1 year old and still sheds

Horrible quality! I have had this for 1 year, at first I liked it because it was so soft. It shed horribly then but I figured that would stop eventually. It hasn't and the rug no longer looks nice, the fibers are matted and worn-looking. It hasn't held up well. The shedding never did get better - I've never seen anything like it, our floors are always a mess from this rug. I recently got fed up and had to purchase a new rug - from a different company. I wish I wouldn't have wasted $500 on this one.

I thought the rug was great. I'm not usually fond of wool rugs, but the color and price were perfect for my need and being wool and shedding a bit wasn't as much of a problem as I thought it would be. Would highly recommend this purchase. Great rug at a great price!

last month pottery barn closed doors in PR. I bought a 12 by 9 wool rug which is the worst stuff I have ever buy in my life. The rug is only one month and is always peeling. Looks terrible and the rug hair make us always feel with allergy. It is too bad they are close here because I lost my money.
