Bought sizes 9x12- 8x10- 2.5x9- 3x5 for the 1st floor of my house a month ago; already have lots of pulls/ fibers sticking up- Im a big fan of pottery barn; I expected this rug to be better quality- :(would not recommend this rug :(

Love the color!! Very earthy, love the dark brown tones with a little bit of light mixed in. One of the reasons we got this rug is we have a Rottweiler, so I needed something durable! I also wanted a soft rug being that it was going in our living room. This is perfect!!! It vacuum's nicely with the "bare floor" setting on our vacuum cleaner. Once in a while a piece of the rug fibers stick up - I just cut them with scissors. Its as soft and durable as it says. Thank you Pottery Barn! As always, a very satisfied customer.

I purchased the Heathered Chenille Jute rug in espresso from PB approx. 6 months ago. Here's the issues I've encountered. 1.) The rug still sheds even though I've vacuumed it probably 18 times. I know that's common to jute rugs, but I had no idea I'd be getting into this. 2.) Even when I followed the instructions provided on how to "maintain" the rug, when I vacuum the end pieces that tie together across different areas of the rug are constantly coming up and I have to clip them or they just stick up in the air. 3.) It appears that some of the loose threads are just being sucked into the vacuum and leaving weird cream colored threads visable. Upset that I feel like I wasted my money. I wouldn't recommend this rug to anyone.

Great rug

I purchased this as a runner for my entry way to accompany another patterned rug. I've never been a huge fan of jute rugs but this one is really nice. The texture is much softer and thicker and I did not have trouble with it moving around until I got the rug pad down. I did go ahead and put rug grip under since we have a dog. Even with the dog racing to the door when someone comes, no movement and no snags. I'm well pleased. Vacuums nicely.

I returned this rug as it was too thick for the area I needed. There's nothing wrong with it but it's not great either.

This rug looked really nice online and when we first got it we were really pleased, but that quickly changed. We have had it for almost a year now and it has not held up well at all. It still sheds quite a bit, little brown fibers that stick to your clothes and are itchy. The color is wearing off and the rug now has a mottled brown and tan look. The rug will likely have to be replaced much sooner than we wanted.

it moves constantly and the rug protector underneath just crumbles into a ball so I am constantly having to re-arrange the rug matt and the runner. I like the quality and color just wish it would stay still.

I purchased this rug as a replacement and although it is a little darker then the previous rug I owned, IT IS GREAT!!!!! It is long enough and looks great in my foyer. A Great BUY!!!

I purchased this rug in espresso over a year ago as a kitchen rug to cover grey stone floors. When I got it, I was surprised at how nice it looked, almost too nice for a kitchen rug that was sure to take some abuse! Not only has it lasted nearly two years, it has maintained its beauty, and withstood cleaning, cats, and kitchen use. It's also surprisingly comfortable on bare feet due to the "heathered" effect. My cats were also unable to do any damage with their claws. I plan to purchase a larger version for use in a main room, this is one of the best rugs I've ever purchased, all things considered.

Nice rug, but doesn't fit under doors

I received this 2.5 x 9 rug about 4 days ago, took it and the separate rug pad out of the package, put them on the floor at my entry and a day or so later tried to open the front door. The rug and pad together were so thick that I couldn't open either the front door or the French closet doors a few feet away. I'm having to return it (reluctantly). It's a nice rug, fairly subtle in my decor, and has a soft finish, even though fairly thick. And it appears it would be hardy over a period of time.

I really love this rug. It is soft on the feet, durable. Even though it is a dark color it doesn't show the dirt, crumbs etc

High quality rug

I'm so happy with this rug. I bought it as a runner and it looks very rich and is thick and well made. It does so much for my entryway, I'm going to buy a bigger one for another room. Very impressed with the weight and quality.

softer than you think

I have bought Jute rugs in the past which were hard to walk on with bare feet. This rug is soft and I always take my shoes off to walk on it just to feel how silky it is. I am going to purchase another one for a different room.

This is best rug for homes with dark haired dogs... it's the best under foot for our 4 legged friends in kitchen/breakfast.

Already have one of these and am buying another. We get so many compliments on the rug. Everyone comments on the look it gives the room, soft and warm. Have already had a friend buy one after seeing ours.

Nice Rug, Nice Texture

I ordered the runner for my long and narrow bathroom. The color has nice variations and is beautiful. It is not a plush rug, but is soft and feels much better on bare feet than hard tile. The texture is unique and adds more interest in a room than the typical area rug. I've just ordered the 5x8 to use in our front door entry and can't wait for it to arrive! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because a couple of fibers have come lose along the edges. But it's not a huge problem.

I searched everywhere for a chocolate brown rug for my library and am thrilled with this purchase. The rug is thick, soft, stays put, and adds lots of texture and depth to my room. The blend of jute and chenille is so unique and everyone who walks in my house comments on it immediately. I bought mine from the store and would NEVER have ordered this from online- you have to really see and feel this to appreciate it.

I just got this rug and it is really nice. It's very chunky and thick. The quality is outstanding. The color is beautiful. So far I haven't had any trouble at all. It's a bit pricey, but I think it's well worth it. I would highly recommend this rug. Note: I have the PB premium pad and I did have to cut it down slightly as the rug pad was a tad bit larger that the rug, but not by much.

The texture of this rug is rougher than I expected. Here and there a sharp bit of jute pokes out, and tufts of fiber come lose from the braiding in an unsightly manner. This is very disappointing.
The color is nice but has tinges of grey that stand out unpleasantly against the reddish brown of my hardwood floor.
On the plus side, this rug is sturdy and doesn't show dirt at all. The pattern is very pleasing and homey.
I should like to add that when I took it out of its packaging, the rug had a strong musty smell that dissipated gradually but not entirely as the rug lay spread out on the floor. (I've had the rug two weeks now and the smell persists slightly.)
All in all a nice rug, but I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it.
