Hastings Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table
A vintage door is like a gateway to the past, with each groove and knot in its surface hinting at its history. We used the wood from salvaged wooden doors to top this striking coffee table and added metal rivets and latches. 56" wide x 35" deep x 17" high Built from reclaimed wood. Each table is unique.

I purchased the Hastings Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table about a year ago and instantly had problems with cracking......I called customer service and they said because I bought in a store I would have to talk to that store, but when I talked to the store I purchased it in they said there was nothing they could do about it......it is getting so bad now.....it's about ready to fall apart, its cracked, chipped, split and lifting....stay away from this table!!

This does not look anything like the picture. It is way darker. Like medieval, logde, DARK. Ugly.

Perfect coffee table!

I never write reviews, but upon reading a negative review about the finish on this beautiful table, felt compelled. There are numerous cracks and differences in the table as it is a piece of reclaimed wood. That is the beauty of it. We have had it about a month and I cannot say enough about the quality. This is a gorgeous, worry free table. Any wear and tear only will add to the character. And yes, the photos do not do it justice.

Love this table..

I saw this table in the catalog and knew that it was the perfect table for my family room. When I finally saw the floor sample I ordered it on the spot. It looks so much better in person; the color is darker and richer than the picture on the website. I absolutely love this table...I've had it about a month now and so far there's no problem with cracking. There was a slight smell that was gone within a week. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Love the style, but damages easily

My husband and I absolutely love the style of this coffee table. It's large and functional and great visually. However, after having it a short time (twelve weeks), we're already noticing that the finish is very thin and even a small scratch on the edges or flat surface will reveal the light wood below, and not in a nice "vintage" way. In a way that looks like it's much lower quality than you'd expect from PB. Additionally, we dropped a piece of salad on the top of the table, didn't see it, and when I removed it the next day, the stain underneath where it had been was gone. We're very neat and careful people, but this table just isn't holding up. Our old table had a normal finish on it and while it got some dents and dings from years of use, we never would have dreamed of having two indicents that went through the finish in three months. Bottom line, the finish on this table is extremely delicate, ironic for the style, so if you're going to have it in a high use place, think twice.

Great Table

My husband and I love this table. It has unique textures and may looked flawed to some people but that is the nature of the distressed look. Our table does not have a smell as other comments state. Very happy with our purchase and guests that come to our home comment on how they like it. Would recommend!

Love the Table - Hate the smell and crack

My wife fell in love with this table and had to find one before Christmas 2012. We called 4 stores in the Dallas area and located one in stock. We bought it on Sunday 12/23/2012 and I put it together the morning of 12/24/2012. Our entire Family Room now smells like old smoke logs from a fireplace. We figured it would go away however, as of 1/2/2013 it still has a strong smoke smell. Also we also have discovered a crack starting at one end and working its way the entire length of the table. My wife will call customer service today and discuss what can be done. We really Love the table and it fits our family room. I just wish it did not smell...I can live with a small crack if nothing can be done to fix it.

Table is great! Did have problems with delivery company getting a date set for delivery. But, once done, they were early, called first, and very nice folks.

I must have received this table after The Cracking issue had been resolved. The picture on-line does not due this piece of Furniture justice......The Table is absolutely Gorgeous.....You will not be disappointed, everyone that sees it, just loves it!!!!!

Love table smells terrible

I absolutely love this table. The color is wonderful and the hinges and rivits add lots of character. However, after two weeks my home still smells like fire or smoke. Even my clothes are starting to smell like this table. Hoping it goes away soon, or I can find a way to clean or seal it so it stops smelling.

There is no doubt that this is a great looking table--strong and sturdy. Until it cracks. This seems to be endemic with this table, but PB is working with us to figure out a replacement option. I hope they heed these comments and figure out a fix.

Thank you for your feedback. We have changed the construction of the Hastings Coffee Table in order to prevent the table top from cracking. All current inventory is in the improved construction.

Defective table top

This very cool and apparently popular table was backordered, then delivered. In 2 weeks time, a 1/2 inch wide split occurred across the length of the top. Customer service Elsa was most helpful and only required pictures. A replacement is on it's way - sometime in April, as it is backordered again. Crossing our fingers as this is an awesome-looking table.

Amazing Look, Questionable Construction

One amazing looking, solid feeling, heavy wooden table...But by day 4, the table split down the middle the full length of the table! On the side without hinges, the planks have separated leaving a see through gap of 1/4 inch wide. In all of 4 days only placed a book and candles on this table! An exchange has been initiated through Pottery Barn. Hoping this turns out well.

I LOVE this coffee table. We looked everywhere and this was the most unique. It looks great with our stuff but about a week after having it, it started cracking. I thought it looked distressed,so I ignored it but it kept getting wider and wider. We had it replaced because we love it so much but the second is doing the same thing :( I wish PB would just fix the issue because it really is a great table and now I'm going to be stuck without a coffee table all together

Rustic with a Crack

The table is very rustic looking and that is what we were going for. However like some of the other reviewers stated, our's cracked after about a week right in the middle and is along the entire length of the table. I called our local PB and the salesman said he has the same table and his also cracked the same way. We still love the table, were just hoping it holds up.

Unique Coffee table

We love this table, saw it in the store and knew this was the one! We've had it now for two weeks and last night while sitting in the living room, we hear a a loud noise, like cracking wood. IT was the table literlaly cracking, now our table has one long crack down the middle of it.
I'm hoping for a replacement however like one customer said, there is really no way to treat the wood and think with time as the wood dries out it will only crack even more and go from a nice conversation piece to something you could find at a garage sale. Terribly dissapointed.

This table was just delivered yesterday and it is even more amazing in person!! I absolutely LOVE it!! It is such a statement piece and the fact that it is a repurposed door makes it such a conversation piece. Love pottery barn!!!
