Beautiful hutch but terrible smell

I ordered this piece of furniture and it was delivered promptly and it is beautiful. Very heavy and seemed to be well made. But the stain or paint smell that came from the furniture was awful...I had to open all of our windows and after a few days it still did not go away. I called PB and returned it. Beautiful piece but made with cheap, terrible smelling paint. Do not buy!

One of the best pieces we have purchased from PB

We buy a fair amount from Pottery Barn. We purchased the stained model. From the delivery and set-up, to the quality of the Hutch this is far and away one of the best built pieces of furniture we have purchased from PB. A very, very nice piece of furniture. We bought it sight unseen based on other reviews, and they are spot on. Excellent piece.

I purchased the black Graham Desk and couldn't be happier. It is a sturdy piece of furniture that will come in handy for years to come. The delivery was quick and easy as well. Well done Pottery Barn!

Perfect Piece of Furniture

This works perfectly in my dining room. When I need it for a desk I just pull a chair from my dining room table and use it. WHen not using it close it put the chair back to the table and it looks great. Love it!

This desk is fantastic. It has a ton of storage but yet is compact since the desk top folds up and closes. We didn't buy the hutch, but the desk looks great by itself.

I am enjoying my desk and hutch..perfect for what I need. My hutch came with a some defects, and PB is exchanging it for a new one, no questions asked. Delivery and set-up very efficient and courteous.

My Favorite Desk

I am completely in love with my Graham Desk and Hutch! I ordered it in the Mahogany finish and it goes great with the rest of my PB furniture. I needed a desk that didn't "look" like a desk but like a beautiful piece of furniture, as it is in my living room, and it is even more fabulous then in the catalog! I never worry about ordering furniture out of PB catalog because I am never disappointed with the amazing quality and attention to detail! What a well made piece of furniture that is simply beautiful! It makes makes me smile every time I walk in the room!

Beautiful, But Delayed

I will begin by saying that I think my situation isn't the norm. I ordered on 5/28. The final product was delivered 08/15 after one defect and two mix-ups. The crew assembled the outer form of the hutch, but said they could not screw anything together. Two days later, my husband put on the back, shelves, and doors. The two of us lifted the hutch onto the desk with little problem. He says it is well-built. I love that the drawers are dove-tailed. I have now been able to put my office together in our bedroom. I still have some items to go through, but I could still add more to the desk. (I did a basket, vintage food box, and vintage child's suitcase on top for more storage.) My printer rests on the top middle portion. I didn't add the shelf there so I can scan items. It is amazing how much this set can hold!

I love this desk and hutch! It fits perfectly in the small space I have it. It has surprisingly ample storage and is perfect for my work at home. I am able to close up the desk at the end of the workday to hide any office mess. Beautiful piece of furniture!

This piece is just as beautiful in person, as it is online. I originally saw this desk two years ago and fell in love with it, but wasn't sure about the price. I looked elsewhere endlessly, but I always came back to this desk. I finally purchased it in white, and I am so glad I did. I wanted a desk that I could put everything away, and this desk fulfills this need. The storage options are endless, the desk fits everything you can think of...including my laser printer in the bottom cabinet. I use the hutch for decorative accents to complete the look. If you are looking for a piece of furniture, rather than just a run of the mill 'desk', this is for you.

I have always loved Pottery Barn, but I have never bought any of their major pieces of furniture. I bought this and my husband and I just love it! High quality, heavy wood, well made, etc. I will buy most (if not all) of my furniture from PB from now on.

A wonderful home office piece

The Graham desk and hutch is the perfect solution for a home office that is occasionally used as a guest bedroom.
The design houses most equipment needed in convenient drawers, shelves and base cabinets. Excellent quality.

This is a wonderful piece of furniture - it's sturdy and beautiful. It fits snugly in a small space, and the height and construction make it a piece on which visitors comment positively. The only problem with it is, the wood at the front of the desktop is quite soft and the wooden desk chair which we use with it has "dinged" it twice already and we have had it less than a month. We are all trying to be extra careful about that chair's location now. But we love it overall and encourage anyone thinking about purchasing it to do so. This is the second secretary type of desk we have owned and this is a great replacement for the much loved one which we gave to a friend when we downsized from a large home to a small condominium. Lighting, or a cord cutout for lighting installation for the hutch would be a wonderful addition.

This desk was everything I thought it would be!! It is very well built. The craftsmanship is stellar. I could not find a single flaw. It has tons of storage. The hutch is beautiful. It is worth every dime. This is the desk I have always wanted, but never thought I could afford. It was shipped right to my door. It was set up in my home. Everyone that has seen it has commented on the excellent quality of this desk. It will definitely be an heirloom in years to come.
