Gabriella Dinnerware - White
Recalling the fine detail of 18th-century European ceramics, this stoneware dinnerware is carefully hand crafted by skilled artisans in Portugal. Embellished with a hand-applied ridging detail along the edge. Finished by hand in layers of glossy glaze, with bits of unfinished clay showing through along the edges for a rubbed antique look. Dishwasher and microwave-safe.

Love this design but worried about knife marks....

I loved these dishes and registered for a full set of them all the way down to the salt and pepper shakers for my wedding. I read the reviews and saw nothing at the time (though I do now) about issues with knife/fork marks. I am seeing small gray scratch marks across my plates after about six months which has been very dissapointing. They were not as noticable at first but am worried after years of use they will not look so nice :( I love them and they are very sturdy... not sure if Pottery barn would ever let me exchange out those with bad marks. I am concerned even if I were try to exchange them I would still have this issue but guess there isn't anything else I can do at this point. I still love them so hopefully they won't get worse.

Still Enjoy/Love the Dishes

I've had two sets of these dishes since June 2011. I use one set for everyday use and another set I keep extra for company. On the set I use everyday, the knife marks are definitely an issue. Two of the dishes snapped into large pieces while someone was eating on them, but that happened just this year. Not sure if that is part of normal wear or not. No problems fitting them in the dishwasher. Still love the look and feel of the dishes.

I already had purchased a placement of 8 seats of this great dinnerware...I just had to add some more!!! I have rec'd several compliments about how formal or casual they are depending on the party...so universal, but simply elegant every time! Love it!!

Im so glad i ordered these dishes. They are a great size and weight. They fit fine in my cabinet and dishwasher. They have held up in every wash and have not faded and do not show scratch marks like from a knife. Love the antique look and they go well with lots of colors. Glad i ordered them.

I found these dishes and fell in love with them. My family gave me servings for eight and I love the way they look. However, after several months, black scratch marks began to appear on all the dishes. So, today, I packed up all the pieces and will return them to Pottery Barn. I'm even thinking of buying them again to see if I have better luck with another set.

Love the look, but they do not fit in dishwasher

I love the look of these dishes and I told my husband that this was what I wanted for Christmas. So I open them, unwrap everything and go to place the plates in the dishwasher and they do not fit! We have a top of the line Miele dishwasher so I did not even think a plate would not fit. So I packaged them all up and have to return them and search for a new set :(

4 of the eight coffee mugs arrived chipped - had to go back to Pottery Barn Store to exchange - made the online shipping advantage not an advantage
Colors of ones at store were slightly different white than the ones I received online
After dishwashing the brownish antique detail on the mugs disappeared even though the dishes are dishwasher safe
Some of the large plates are not an even round shape in the middle
I like these dishes but have had a lot of issues, now I am scared to put them in the dishwasher -
Inconsistency from piece to piece - I would not purchase these again - these are expensive and should have better quality control

Why so big?

I love the look of this set, so I bought it all - plates, bowls, sugar bowl, salt & pepper shakers. When I got it home, I realized that the plates are 12 inches and wouldn't fit in my cabinet or my dishwasher. A standard plate is between 10 1/2 - 11 inches. Why is Pottery Barn making the plates so big? Aren't we trying to get healthier in this country and eat less? I returned the entire set and am in the process of looking for a set that will fit in my kitchen! By the way, in contrast, the sugar bowl is so small that I would need to refill it at least once a week. Very disappointed.

I waited for years to purchase Pottery Barn dishes. I finally hit the jackpot with this set. I LOVE them. Very sturdy & versatile. The distressing on the edges is a lovely finishing touch.

Dinnerware is lovely and appears to be a sturdy high fire. It has a European feel, without the girlyness of the Emma line. The break in the glaze on the edges gives the white more range, allowing it to blend better with other dishes than the stark greenish white of the Great White dinnerware allows. Accessories are very attractive and well priced. Dinner plates are large. If the dinner plate is too large for you, consider using the salad plates as your main plates and the cereal bowls as salad bowls. No one will notice. The snack bowls are great for rice or ice cream. All dishes are dishwasher friendly except soup bowl which is too deep to nest well. The dishes are slightly warpy - but it adds to the charm as long as you don't get too out of family - pick your dinnerware out at the brick and mortar store if you have the opportunity. I would appreciate some smaller serveware and bakeware to match. Only downside was hours spent with goo-gone scraping off price tags.

I recently purchased this set of dishes and one of the bowls was broken. I absolutely looooove these dishes but was sad that one was broke. i will probably order another set to have as a back up. Very classic design...looooove everything I've always ordered from the Pottery Barn!!!

I have had these dishes for a year and a half now, I loved them when I found them and I still think they are beautiful every time we use them. I have had no problems with scratches or chipping and my husband is not very gentle when doing dishes or loading the dishwasher so they have been hit together a few time and held up great! We have used the everyday plates and put them directly in the oven to cook and they did great! I have lived in two different places since owning these dishes and while they are large I have not had a problem at either place with the cabinets or dishwasher. I agree with other customers that I would love to have more serving pieces and some smaller pieces as well.

Excellent Everyday Dinnerware

I bought this to use as our everyday dinnerware, and I am quite pleased with it. The plates and bowls are heavy and sturdy, and I love the design of the mugs. My only complaint is that the design around the edges gets a little grey with wear and tear, but I guess it fits in to the rustic look.

I just love this product. It can be used for everyday or dressed up for special occassions. I purchased 3 sets to have a service for 12. So glad that I did as we entertain all the time and this product holds up to heavy usage.

Finally found what I was looking for...

I have been searching for the right set of everyday dishes for about 2 years now. I saw this set and immediately liked them. They are unique and not your everyday white dishes that you can find anywhere. So far I haven't seen any chips or scratches and they fit in my dishwasher just fine. Like others have said, I wish there were more serving pieces.
BTW the pottery barn stores do sell sugar and creamer dishes.

I purchased these dishes in March at a Pottery Barn store in CA while on vacation. I love the look and feel of the dishes. Unfortunately, the quality is not what I would expect from Pottery Barn. After only 2 months of normal use (dishwasher and occasional microwave) they developed crackle lines and scratches throughout. I am very disappointed in their lack of durability. I am dismayed to think what they might look like in a year's time....

Awesome dish set

I love these dishes, they are a beautiful off white cream tone with a pretty rustic edge that will compliment any table. They are a bit larger than average so I had to rearrange my cuboards so if space is an issue take measurements.
