In the tradition of tribal weavers of Persia, artisans dye sections of fine wool to varying saturation, then mix them for a range of tonality as they weave. Shedding of loose fibers is normal and is a natural result of the process used to create our high-quality handmade wool rugs. With regular vacuuming and proper care, the shedding will diminish. Lovely, well made

This is much nicer then in the magazine. The color has various tones and is a lovely shade of blue. Goes well with all other Pottery Barn blues, so easy to combine small carpet collections. The weight was more substantial then I expected, heavy and solid and easy to vacume, doesn't pull up or slip on a wooden floor. Beautiful as a bedside carpet, really nice.

I purchased the Sienna comforter set and needed rugs. I contacted the Pottery Barn Designer Service for rug recommendations. The Blue Smoke rugs were one of the recommendations and they are just what I needed. Nice quality and a perfect color coordination with the comforter.

After a week of having the rug I had to return. The shedding was excessive and after only a short time made the rug threads appear wore as if it had been in my home for years. The return was simple and easy.

Sheds like crazy!

Color is more minty than smokey.
This rug sheds so much that I'd return it if it weren't such a pain to do. We vaccumm every other day or so to minimize the shedding but it's been 3 weeks and still sheds.
Looks nice and would be good for dining room or somewhere where my son doesn't crawl often. It's in our living room though.

Rug is not Smoke Blue

This rug is NOT smoke blue--there is no gray "smoke" or navy blue tones as pictured. It is actually a deep green more like a sea green, deep spa green, aqua green. (For example, I have a room with blue and green--the rug doesn't go with any of the shades of blue in the room and only some of the green). Rug is nice and soft, but the color is not smoke blue.

just what I wanted

I was very hesitant to order considering that I couldn't get a swatch of the rug to be certain of the color until far too long, weeks in the future, but it turned out to be exactly the color I wanted. The picture in the fall catalog is MUCH more accurate in color than the picture on the website which looks gray. It is actually a sea-green/blue, not quite teal, but the shade of blue that I wanted. Love the tightness of the pile and the way it feels under foot. I'm using it in my bathroom. We'll see how it does with a bit of water daily, but so far, so good.

Huge disappointment but good customer service

This rug was extremely low quality, even more so than the price point and arrived with a stain as well as some pulls in the fabric. It was immediately returned and I do appreciate the good customer service at the store where it was returned. In my opinion this item is not nearly up to PB standards and should not be offered. I tried to order a swatch first but they were backordered until March so that was not an option. Love PB but this was not a typical PB item.

Beautiful rug but wrong color. Definitely is not a blue smoke but a teal color. Had to return this rug (which was not easy for us) because it did not match anything in the room it was for and highly recommend you not buy this rug unless you want a teal rug.

Nice rug for the bedroom but I agree with the other review regarding the blue color. I ordered this fearing it might be too baby blue and really it appears teal / green gray. I had to double check the tag to make sure I wasnt shipped the wrong color rug.

Order Swatch Prior to Order

I just bought and received this rug and the color is much more teal then it appears online. Definitely worth ordering the swatch first. The rug also came with a small hard stain, looks like glue. Wanted to exchnge it for a pottery barn kids rug since this was for a nursery but it was not allowed. Sending back for credit.
