These are great sconces. I searched around..deign center etc. and these are the best value for the look! The metal portion is more of a wrought iron than a flat metal. The shade is a pretty off-white/beige that looks great with a low watt bulb. Sconce is not petite...you will definitely notice it in a room.

Remodeling a 1930's bungalow! Looked at 1500 light fixtures before finding ones I could live with (am "picky" and found most to be downright UGLY). These grabbed my attention the first time I saw them: simple lines, funcionality, aesthetically pleasing :)

Rustic and sophisticated all at once

WOW -- great looking and easy, easy to install. The sconce is sophisticated with its cloth shade and then goes rustic with the iron loop at the bottom of the fixture. Using 2 of these in our lake house diningroom -- looks great!! Again, thank you Pottery Barn.

Light on the Stairs, not in your Face

I put two of these on my stairway wall and two in the upstairs hallway. I've received three compliments on them already. They shine light up and down but not in your face. This was one of my requirements but could not find this type of lighting (that wasn't completely gaudy). We hung them up 6 1/2 feet above the stair floor in order to keep them above people's heads. The guidelines say at least 5 feet.
I give 4 stars because I could do without the wrought iron embellishment. Oh... and my electrician said they were easy to install and fit tight to the wall. I wish they were made in USA

The only thing I would change would be to paint the lower white wire in the shade to match the iron, since you tend to see it.

Beautiful textured lighting

I purchased two of these sconces for a bathroom remake project, but have yet to hang them. I am waiting on the completion of cabinets being built. The shades are a beautiful subtle texture and I know they will bring warm lighting to my "new" bath. I am excited about the look it will give the new tile and cabinets as well. I highly recommend them!

Very Nice Sconce. Just One Problem.

I bought 2 Sconces and they look absolutely terrific on my dining room wall. However, there's one problem: each shade is a little dimpled when I took them out of the box. While the packaging was very well done, it wasn't quite up to completely protecting the shades. I've tried to manually smooth out the indentations with no success. If it wasn't for this one issue, the sconces would get 5 stars. Overall, the price and quality of the Sconces surpasses prestigious lighting brands. If only my eye didn't go straight to those indentations...

Love these sconces (ordered two). One disappointment is that the shades are dented. Looks really bad especially when the lit. Calling PB and hope they will rectify this issue.

We like the wall sconces very much! Soft lighting, and minimalist design are refreshing. The shipping was a problem because the shades were bent. However, once we called, we received new shades quickly. (We also received new fixtures which we need to return.) We hope that Pottery Barn can solve this problem.

We mounted the sconces on our bedroom wall. They are elegant and look good. Both shades arrived with a slight dent in them from shipping. We hope this will come out eventually. Other than that we're very happy with the purchase.

Simple, rustic fixture but the shade creates a sophisticated look and a pretty diamond pattern on the wall. Had trouble with shade but Pottery Barn replaced until it was right.
