Color is not quite right
April 8, 2013
This is a beautiful well made sconce. I just wish the color description was a little better. I bought three of these lights to match other antique bronze items in my bathroom. I would not call these lights bronze in the least bit... more like a dark gray.

A Light Update!!
December 9, 2012
Our remodeled master bath has two new surface-mounted medicine cabinets. We realized we would need something other than typical double or triple sconces, so we settled on 3 Covington sconces with two on the sides and one in the middle. Because they jut out ahead of the medicine cabinets, the light source is much more pronounced. The vignette definitely has a spa-like ambiance.

The Best
October 26, 2011
We replaced two three-light sconces with one each of the Covington fixture. Worried about reduced lighting, the shades cast great lighting with just one bulb! Once the old lights were removed, the boxes were off center! YIKES! With the articulating sconce, we were able to adjust the swing arms to compensate. No cutting sheetrock and relocating the wiring. The polished nickel gives an antique look yet very updated style. After ordering from Pottery Barn, I saw these same fixtures in another very popular (prestigeous) catalog; however, I saved approximately $300.00 PER SCONCE purchasing through Pottery Barn! Thank you, Pottery Barn for the quality of products you offer. I am indebted to you because I can finish our remodeling now instead of waiting on monthly budget and not purchase "prestige".

bath light
October 12, 2011
this light fit exactly what my client needed. often when installing a light fixture over a medicine cabinet that has crown molding there is an issue with the light extending far enough out.. this light suits that requirement along with adding style to the bath..

For the cabin...
June 1, 2011
Not sure just yet - ordered a whole bathroom full of the Covington fixtures which I think are beautiful - towel bars, glass shelves, and my absolute favorite, the train rack. They will be going out to a remote, wilderness cabin for our new indoor bathroom (the sconces will run on generator). All the pieces are all still in their shipping boxes, but next float plane trip out to the cabin, I'll take them all with and get started unboxing and installing them. They were a great value - all the pieces I needed were on sale and surprisingly all AVAILABLE. That usually doesn't happen when things are on sale. I love the vintage look and the high-end quality (I did peek at the couple of the pieces when they arrived). Our bathroom will be as exquisite as our ocean view! Thanks!

Lighting
February 5, 2011
This fixture can be easily placed in a room with an 8' ceiling. Like anything else it depends on your location. The lamp socket rating is 60 watts.
We installed this in our bath above a storage cab. (medicine cab.) that we also purchased from Pottery Barn. Tha Cab. is 6'' of the wall. (surface mount) This fixture's cool because it's glass extends beyond the 6'' deep. cab. The center of your electrical box must be at least 9'' above the top of the cab. My wife said it provide's more than enough light for make-up apps.

Very nice lamp, however, it is too large for 8' celling. Plus, it doesn't provide enough light. These should be made with 100W bulbs
