I have formal mahogany reproduction bedroom furniture, but I wanted to update and lighten the look. Transitional lighting, Benjamin Moore Woodlawn Blue on the walls, and a coordinated Color-Bound Sisal Rug from Pottery Barn gave me the look I wanted. The swatch was a perfect way to test whether or not it would work. If only my cat had barfed on the swatch and not waited till I put the actual rug in the room I would have known it doesn't clean well at all.
