Leather is not very soft, supple, or shiny. Looks more plastic-y than the picture. Monogramming does not show up well. Interior does hold lots of toiletries. No handle.

The quality of the case was excellent. However I was disappointed in the monogram. It faded into the leather. I had to point it out to the recipient because he totally missed it.

The monogramming does not look like the picture, the preview, or any other picture regarding this item. The monogramming is a black outline of initials -- that's all. There is no fill; just an outline. From a foot away, your eyes won't even see a monogram.

Unfortunately, the monogram advertised on the website looks nothing like what I actually received. What came was more of a sticker-like monogram on top of the leather, rather than a monogram embossed into the leather, as pictured. The bag itself is nice, but the monogram looks cheap and not up to usual Pottery Barn quality. I was very disappointed because what is shown on the website is nothing like what I got. Since you are unable to return monogrammed items, I would not recommend purchasing this product with a monogram.

Very unhappy with this bag. The leather seems thin and cheap- and the monogramming is awful. It looks like faded cheap stickers were placed on this bag. If I could return it, I would. Not very happy that this is a Christmas gift...boo.

I'm a little disappointed in the monogram. I thought it would have more of an embroidered look to it, rather than a laser etching look. The monogram is very close to the surface and I'm a bit worried about it rubbing off after multiple uses. At the end of the day, it's a nice (not great) product. I'm hoping the person who receives it as a Christmas gift will be pleased.

After reading the previous reviews about the quality level of the monogramming, I was extremely hesitant to buy the product. I ordered it anyway with the monogram initials, and I was pleasantly surprised and relieved. The toiletry case is great and the letters were not as terrible as others have described. The reason I gave it 4 versus 5 stars is because the monogrammed initials would be much better if they were actually stitched onto the case.
Nonetheless, I am excited to give this to my husband as a gift and I think he will enjoy it!

Skip the Monogramming

I ordered both the Colby Leather Cathcall and the Toiletry Case. Though I was satisfied with the overall quality of the products themselves, I was disappointed in the monogramming, for the two items didn't match. The toiletry case was monogrammed in the off-white color while the catchall monogram was just etched into the leather, and really doesn't show up very well. When I went back and checked the website to see if I'd made a mistake, I realized that there was no option for chosing a thread color for the catchall and even though there were color options for the toiletry case, there was no tab to select the color you prefer. Very confusing!!

The leather bag was very nice however I ordered it mongrammed. I expected thread monogramming and it is actually a cheesy stamp. Was going to be a gift but the poor grade of monogram cheapened the bag so much I will not give as a gift item.

The monogram was not sewn on. It was screen printed and I think that is a cheap way out. It should tell you that in the description. Oh well, can't return it. I like the bag just not the monogramming.

I bought this for a friend who travels a lot for business. It made the perfect Christmas gift. I also liked the fact it had the option of being gift wrapped. I read the reviews and decided not to get it monogramed. I would have gave it 5 stars if I could have had better information about how that would have looked.
