Clarissa Glass Drop Chandelier
Hundreds of glass droplets form a shimmering cascade on this chandelier. Crystals in alternating teardrop and raindrop shapes, with a faceted globe at the bottom, are so densely strung they completely cover the metal framework. 13" diameter, 19.5" high Glass drops suspended from an antique-silver filigreed crown crafted of iron. A generous 12' chain allows the chandelier to be hung in grand entryways and may be professionally shortened to fit any ceiling height. Some assembly required; individual droplets must be attached by hand. UL-listed. Hardwire; professional installation recommended. Catalog / Internet Only.

Beautiful Chandelier

I've been admiring this chandelier for months and finally purchased it. I was not disappointed. It looks beautiful in the master bedroom. Very glad I read the reviews first so knew to start hanging the crystals from the bottom first. Very satisfied as it's very elegant and adds a little sparkle to the room.

Pretty in the picture

i had been looking at this light for more than a year before deciding to purchase - I regret it. I'm returning it. The lighting it puts off is EXTREMELY dim and gives virtually no light to any space it would be put in. The way the light fixtures are placed inside the base also doesn't allow light to filter to the bottom of the chandelier. The 40W bulb (2) requirement is just not enough for anyone who's looking to have a brighter space. In addition, the glass drops appeared foggy once they were up and lighted; not attractive at all. Very disappointed in this purchase.

Gorgeous chandelier!

The original chandelier arrived with part of the main structure bent, but Pottery Barn was very cooperative in getting me a new one within a week. This chandelier, though somewhat tedious to hang each of the drops, is absolutely beautiful and exactly what I expected - could not have been happier with my purchase! I have seen a cheaper version of this in a big box home improvement store, but trust me there is no comparison.

I just had the small Clarissa chandelier installed in my hallway and it looks wonderful! I put the crystals on following the instructions in a review and it was very easy. I was worried it wouldn't be bright enough, but it is actually very bright and perfect for the entryway.

Instructions for Easy Install of Small Chandelier!

For the SMALL Clarissa chandelier, hang the fixture FIRST. Then, start from the bottom and work your way up. From the first tier alternate the long crystals with the large crystals (there will be 9 of each on this tier). For the next one up do the same (there will be 12 of each on this tier). Do the same for the next (there will be 15 of each on this tier). On the uppermost one, alternate the small crystals with the large crystals (there will be 21 of each). Lastly, hang the large ball crystal from the bottom. It goes really fast except for the very top part. This takes a little longer because the holes are harder to get to, and it practically takes two hands (one from underneath, the other from the top) to get the little hooks in place. It only took me 45 mins to get all the crystals on. IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

The chandelier is just as beautiful in person as in the photograph. The directions say to put the crystals on before installing the fixture, but I would not recommend that. Also, the light bulbs mentioned in the directions were the wrong size, but other than that, there were no problems at all. Two crystals were broken when it arrived, but there were more than enough extras. It was fun to hang the crystals. You will love it.

We looked everywhere for a chandelier for our dining room and this by far was the most gorgeous one we came across. The instructions aren't that great at all, but it didn't take long to hang and neither did the crystals (start from the bottom up and hang fixture before putting the crystals on). We just love this piece...it's stunning!

Beautifully Complicated Chandelier

Put together the chandelier is amazing! The instructions are complicated (putting up the light and putting on the crystals). The metal rings which hold the crystals werent level but seem fine after crystals are put on. You have to individually put on every Lead Crystal (makes you nervous bc you have to wash your hands after handling them...bc of the lead). They dont tell you which way to face the crystals and the diagrams are a bit comfusing. Upclose the crystals have scratches but as a whole the Chandelier is beautiful. Time consuming unwrapping every crystal and handing them.

Very pretty chandelier

BLUF: This is a pretty chandelier. I ordered it for the front parlor of our old farmhouse, and it enhances the room--even though I love old fixtures and rarely find a new one that will do. That being said, I agree completely with the previous comments about the directions--they're horrible, just horrible! I can't imagine putting this fixture up after the glass drops are on it, so we didn't. Nonetheless we were on our own because the directions are really untelligible. I wish I'd read the comments first that advise attaching the glass pieces from the bottom ring up; it would have helped. I discovered that the holes in the second ring from the top are in the wrong place--around the top edge of the metal ring, not the bottom, like the other rings. Because of this I couldn't hang the glass drops from the holes so I just hung the hooks over the edge of the ring. It looks pretty and should last a long time. I may look for an antique chandelier yet, but now there's no rush.

The Light changed the way my dining room looks. It's Beautiful! I love it. It did take a little bit to put together and several of the crystals were broken but not enough to effect the light.

I put this in my foyer, it's beautiful! Every drop had to be put on, but it wasn't difficult, there were also some broken pieces but there are enough spare pieces to make up for them.

Not having a J box in place was an obstacle. We needed an electrical kit to convert the recessed canned light and a round mold cover for the six inch hole left behind. Placing the crystals before install as advised by previous comments made it unbearably heavy to hold while the wires were being worked on, even though it was supported by a shower rod for me to grip each end above my head. Save the crystals for last.

I hung 2 of the Clarissa Glass Drop chandeliers in my dining room and I have recieved so many compliments thus far. They did take quite some time to assemble as they are each individual glass drops. But it was definitely worth it! The quality of the product is great and it is exactly the look I was going for.

Inspect Before Installing!

I hung most of the crystals before installing the fixture, but not all -- only to realize that the fixture is defective. The holes in the frame where the crystal hooks hang are missing on the bottom two rings of the frame.
My options are to uninstall the fixture and ship it back, or somehow modify the frame and drill or punch the holes myself. Both are a massive hassle.
Check the frame thoroughly before you begin!

First things first. If you decide to purchase after reading my review...absolutely hang the fixture first THEN add the glass drops. About 24 or more inches off of your table is a good height for a dining table fixture. Most people hang them to high. Also, when hanging the glass drops be sure to go from the bottom to the top. The directions say just the opposite which is likely why others have complained about breaking some of the glass and how time consuming it was.
Now...I am designer and have eyed this fixture for some months. I expected to love it when I finally decided to purchase it. Sadly, I don't. It looks beautiful when it is off but when the lights are on the glass just looks cheap. I have tried clear and frosted bulbs. When illuminated the glass drops look dull...almost like they could be acrylic.
I want to love it but am quite disappointed. Sorry

Our house is done in a beachy coastal theme and this is the perfect amount of elegance for our dining room. We love this chandelier and though I was nervous about putting it together, once we started the project it was easy enough. Though my husband might not feel the same...:)
But we love it and it was worth it!
