Chelsea Sectional Floor Lamp

Best lamp we have ever purchased. We love how it completed our living room. Guests are always asking where we purchased it, and comment how great it looks. We love that it has a dimmer switch, and has a diffuser on the bottom of the shade so you can't see inside it while sitting underneath. It is extremely heavy duty and well put together. Only downfall is there is not an on/off switch on the pole itself, it is part of the cord and about 2 ft from the electrical prong that you plug into the wall outlet. Great quality lamp that is very sturdy!!!

The lamp is heavy, substantial, and of excellent quality. The burlap shade is well-made, and the fabric across the bottom of the shade provides diffused lighting. Ecellent product!

Overpriced for quality

It looks great but the quality isn't the best. The thread that holds the lampshade continually slips and it is hard to get the lampshade to stay in place. The arm is also too heavy for the base and the lamp tips. I keep it tucked under the radiator cover behind my couch so it doesn't tip as much. I've even had the boom slip and fall once which again caused the lampshade thread to slip.

We bought this lap in the bronze finish with the burlap shade. It works perfectly with a sectional or a sofa with a chaise. The base is very heavy so be careful when you're moving it. Nice light disbursement.

This is a great floor lamp to use behind or aside a large sectional couch, as we have chosen to do. The only piece of info that PB does not mention is that the base of the lamp shade is covered with the same material as th side of the shade. Kind of nice if you are sitting under it that you don't have to look up at a light bulb and creates a domed light experience.

We ordered the bronze Chelsea Floor lamp with the linen shade for our sectional seating from Pottery Barn. I checked several other store sites but kept coming back to this one for the quality and price. I finally convinced myself to order it during a PB free shipping promotion. After it arrived, my husband was uncertain if he really liked it and kept the shipping boxes but I was certain it was the right floor lamp. After favorable comments from our adult kids, he agreed that it was the right lamp for our area. Dimmer switch is a nice feature of this lamp!

I absolutely love the chelsea sectional floor lamp. It moves where I do. I like to do handwork while watching TV so it is there. I have a keyboard behind the L-Shaped sofa that needs light sometimes and it goes there. It is sometimes just light for the TV watching times. I love it.

Great lamp, but...

Long story, but this is my second lamp. Had to return entire lamp just because we decided we liked the linen shade better than the burlap version.
First lamp base was fine. The second one has an issue with the counter balance that screws into the lamp arm. When I installed the counter balance, it promptly fell out. I looked to see if the threads were stripped but they appeared to be fine. It seems to be more of an issue with quality control (tolerances for sizing of components). Having gone through the hassle of one return, I decided instead to try some teflon plumbing tape on the threads. This seems to be sufficient for a secure fit.
Other thing to note is that the lamp arm is still heavier than the counterbalance and so on carpet the lamp tilts forward slightly. I used a cardboard shim to straighten it up.
Solid, heavy lamp. Love the look, love the amount and placement of light.

Glad I finally got it

When I placed my order, the lamp was back ordered for up to 6 weeks. The lamp base arrived in 2 weeks and the shade in 4 weeks. The lamp base is extremely heavy and a bit of a struggle to assemble myself, but I did it. The antique nickel finish is accurate,. The lamp cord is long enough for my needs.
The lamp shade color in the picture is accurate when the light is on, but when it is off, the shade is more of an off-white (I'm pleased with that and compliments my decor).
I will never get a lamp without a diffuser ever again. No more glare. Does a nice job of illuminating the space.
I did not have any quality or workmanship problems as others have noted.

dubious quality lamp

I had my eye on this floor lamp for some time as it was out of stock for a good 4-6 weeks. When I finally received it I had to return it after assembling it as the hinge/ joint was not able to support the weight of the arm. Unfortunately I hadn't read the reviews before purchasing and although the replacement I received is currently ok I am very dubious about durability. I am being very cautious as to how I handle this lamp as the joints don't seem up to the job. Such a shame as I really like appearance of this lamp.
(the finish on the vertical telescoping part of pole is scratched off in places but I didn't want to return a 2nd time)

Overall the lamp met my expectations, but it did have fall short of 5 stars for two reasons.
1. The lamp shade that was delivered had an imperfection in the seam weld between the pieces of shade materials. This raised edge was unnaccetable. I took it to the local PB and exhanged it.
2. The angular adjustment range should be increased in the main joint for more geometries to be obtained. One up, one down. That should suffice.
Good counterweight, nice finish, overall nice design. Fix the joint and the shade QC.

Chelsea Floor Lamp - Perfect Lighting

My barrel-ceiling-ed living room was desperate for brightening up without harsh, glaring light. The Chelsea Sectional Floor Lamp is the perfect solution for creating both warm ambience and reading light. This lamp is functional and good-looking. It fits well over our large curved sofa. The adjustability is super helpful and I also like that the drum lampshade encloses the lightbulb, creating light that isn't harsh. One warning: this lamp is very heavy. Great for sturdy balance but not simple to set-up initially or move. My advice is to set it up where you plan to place it.

If you have a sectional sofa and your not ready for the modern arch, this is the most traditional, well made, quality item you can buy. The shade is so soft and easy on the eyes without casting any shadows. If you want to sit in the middle or corner of the sectional sofa and be able to read, you need this. Besides the fact it is so beautiful and sturdy, classic lines and functional, it has a nice dimmer switch for entertaining evenings and I find I don't want to use any other lighting as this one makes my home look so inviting. I have seen similar models on other sites that were much more money and not nearly as well crafted. Get one, you won't regret it.

The Chelsea Floor Lamp was packed perfectly and delivered timely. Easy to assemble and looks beautiful with my sectional sofa. Love the automatic dimmer on it and weight of it was shockingly heavy but no worries on it falling over or anything. Love how I can change the location of the shade & beautiful addition to my living room. Would highly reccommend!

I ordered the burlap shade at first and would strong advise against that choice as it is completely see through. After quite a bit of hassle I was able to exchange for the linen. The lamp looks beautiful over my sectional. I would highly recommend the lamp; it is heavy and appears to be well constructed.
