Great Rug

I bought this for a small studio apt I was designing. The colors and pattern are perfect for this 1925 building and I have gotten many compliments on the colors and pattern. The design is a contemporary twist on an Art Nouveau or Art Deco period style and the colors are rich without being too bright. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is easy to clean, nice thick plush and looks lovely on the hardwood floors.

We ordered this rug in the 8 x 5 size to lay beneath our breakfast table and we absolutely love it! The quality is excellent, the colors are gorgeous and the texture is plush and soft enough that one of our chocolate labs has now claimed it as his favorite nap location! As usual with PB rugs, we weren't disappointed!

This rug is a delight to own. The wool is soft and well sewn into the backing. It could be a little more dense, but over all it is a quality item. The pattern and the colors are vivid and make my floor good to look at. I would buy it again. :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS RUG!!!

I LOVE this rug. I ordered one a couple of years ago and later went to purchase a second one for my dining room and found them to be discontinued. I was ecstatic when they started stocking them again. It is the perfect rug for my 1926 bungalow. It looks the part without breaking the bank. Be warned that it does shed a lot at first, but it is well made and stands up to my cats claws...which speaks volumes.

Great Period Rug

I was very pleased to finally lay down this rug as it was in storage for a few months. I live in an early Craftsman bungalow in Chicago and it looks great with the beamed ceilings and French doors. The rug is a very good replica of the original designed by C.F.A. Voysey between 1890-1900 and made by Morton & Company in Donegal Ireland. Pottery Barn should continue their offerings of this piece!

Absolutely love this rug! My husband and I own a craftsman style house and have tried to stay committed in decorating our home as close as possible to the period while on a budget. This rug fits in perfectly! Great colors and feels great under your feet! Pottery Barn never disappoints! I have another rug to add to my PB collection!

I bought the 3x5 Cecil rug for my bedroom, to place by the bed. I am loving the thickness of the pile and the muted rich colors. The bedroom is very Arts and Crafts and the style of this rug fits right in. The price was right too! Good value for the money.

This rug is so beautiful with the earth tone colors. It compliments the Adeline rug which I have in an adjacent room. Amazed at the sale price for a wool rug!

we purchased 3 different sizes of the Cecil rug, one of which was a 9x12 area rug. I loved the Arts and Crafts inspiration and it worked so wonderfully into our new family room. But I was even more thrilled when I noticed how the different hues of green in the rug repeated itself within the variation of tree colors just outside our big family room window. What a beautiful and unexpected treat!

I'm fortunate to have 2 stores close by, so I saw this rug before purchasing it for our dining room and took a sample home to live with the colors and pattern for awhile. I love this rug and have received many compliments. The colors are muted but blend perfectly with my dining room walls (light green) and other decor, and the rug is thick and sturdy. I'm now considering buying a smaller version of the Cecil rug for our entry way.

Echoing other reviewers of PB rugs, I must say the photos in their print catalogs and online are brighter and more vivid than the real item. This rug arrived today, and while the quality appears nice (time will tell), the colors are very drab. The gold is actually almost butternut squash colored, the orangey border is brick red, and the only green that approximately resembles the photos is the palest green. I'd say the real color is three shades darker. The other greens are virtually indistinguishable from each other. I know all monitors portray colors differently, but this is really bad. Lesson learned. I give it 3 stars based on my hopes for the rug's quality.

I looked at a number of top brand Arts & Crafts rugs before deciding on this one. It was a bit of a gamble because ~$700 is a lot for an 8x10 rug that you have never seen firsthand, but a lot less than the ~$2000 for the name brand rugs (Persion, Jax, Donegal, etc,) Turned out I couldn't be happier with it. Looks artisan made and the colors are warm and rich as you would expect. After living with it for over a week now, my only complaint is the shipping cost. A little steep at 10% of purchase price, especially when everyone else is offering free shipping. On top of that, you get charged a $25 add on fee.

Love the Cecil rugs

My husband and I bought the 5x8, 3x5 and 2x9 cecil rugs. They are absolutely beautiful, soft and true to the colors as pictured on pottery barn. We only wish we had enough money to buy more cecil rugs. We highly recommend cecil rugs to everyone.
