Shedding of loose fibers is normal and is a natural result of the process used to create our high-quality handmade wool rugs. With regular vacuuming and proper care, the shedding will diminish. Practical hallway rug

Bought 2.5 x 9 for high traffic hallway. Perfect, practical colors. Not quite as dark brown as shown in catalog/online, but that was a plus for me. Overall excellent quality and price.

I purchased the rug in size 9X12, I was not disappointed. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance and buy it online. The colors are muted but that is fine with me. I was concerned about the shedding but I was pleasantly surprised it does not shed that much. It is quality rug, this will not be my last PB rug.

Stunning Rug Colors.

I needed rugs for our new home and this was the only one I could find that was made in such a large size. I had my eye on it for a long time and bought three different sizes for my home. I love them and couldn't be happier with my choices. The array of colors and tones are perfect for any color palette. With solid colors in a lot of the area this was the "pop" we needed to bring everything together.

Liked rug but the colors are not as vibrant as the picture. Slightly disappointed. Seems like decent quality and sheds like most wool rugs at first but pretty. Hoping it holds up to heavy traffic. Only had it a few weeks.

This is a nice rug, the colors are true, plush and soft. I would of given 5 stars -- because for the price, I would of liked it to be just a bit higher quality. If I could of gotten it on a discount or on sale, I would of rated it 5 stars.

This rug is beautiful! We bought a 5x8 to go with our espresso colored leather sectional. Rug does not make the room look too dark. Very soft but it's true about the shedding. I am confident it will decrease with time. So...happy with our purchase!!!

Beautiful Rug & Worth the Shedding Hassle

This rug is gorgeous in person and is so soft and plush. We receive many compliments on it. It does shed a lot. I moved it to a room with less foot traffic, so it is better now. It shed quite a bit for about 6-9 months. Very annoying. But it is so gorgeous it is worth it!

Disappointing Rug

We've owned this rug for a year now and it still sheds like crazy. You can't sit on it or you will be covered in the fibers. Also, the colors are very muted- not at all what it looks like online. Overall- I will liked the colors but wish they were richer. Very disappointing considering how expensive it was.

WHEN WILL IT STOP SHEDDING!!!!!!!

I bought this rub in FEB. 2011 and it is STILL SHEDDING!!!!! I vacuum every 2-3 days and it fills up my Dyson canister EVERY TIME!!!! I do love the color of this rug but every time my kids sit on the rug their butts are covered with fibers! I did not return it because on the care instructions it mentions that it will shed, BUT that it does not last long....WELL, it's been 10 months and it is STILL SHEDDING like crazy!!!! I do hope it will stop before I own a BALD 9x12 rug! I did read several reviews that their rugs shed but stopped soon after...I guess my rug is a "lemon" :(

We ordered this area rug after searching the oriental dealers in the area as well as the internet. We definitely made the right decision. The carpet arrived within 7 days and flattened out within 24 hours of unrolling it. The colors are true to that which we saw on the internet. There is very minimal shedding, only what you would expect upon purchasing a new carpet. I love how it looks in our dining room. We have chocolate brown walls with tan tiles, white woodwork and tan drapes. The colors blend beautifully. Thank you Pottery Barn.

Warm and plush

I love this rug. I've owned the 5x8 for a year. It's in my morning room adjacent to the kitchen (which I use as an office with a desk and loveseat) and looks fantastic on the hardwood floors. The warm chocolate brown, rust, gold, and slate gray tones just soften and become more beautiful over time. The rug is very plush underfoot. It did shed for a good six months and I will admit that was a bit irritating because I had to stay on top of the vacuuming. But that has entirely settled down now. And the rug still looks gorgeous as when it arrived at my home.
