Great Charging Station

I've been eyeing this charging station for a couple of years now and absolutely love it. It was great to finally get the chance to see it in the store and ensure that it's exactly what I wanted. Once I did, I was instantly in love and had to get it! The quality is great, a nice hard wood with plenty of room for multiple phones, ipods, cameras, etc.

We bought this to help organize some of our charging cords and for place to set a wallet and keys. Really like it! Have it on top of a small bookshelf near where we used to pile things. Nice style that fits with our decor. Also like the safety feature to close off the unused outlets inside. This was a good decision for us.

I love my recharging station! Before we purchased it, we had cell phones charging on our side table with wires every where! Now, it's nice a neat, thanks to the recharge station!

Just what I was looking for!

After reading some of the comments posted, I was hesitant to purchase the recharge station, but I am so glad that I did. Like other buyers, I did initially have trouble plugging chargers in, but once I realized that "protectors" over the outlets had to be lined up just right, I had no trouble plugging the chargers in....just jiggle left and right a bit and it's all set. The outlets are a bit close, so you may not get to use all 6, but I was able to use 4 by putting an adapter in one outlet. By doing this, the charger was raised a bit and went in fine.
Right now I have an iPad, Kindle Fire, iPod and phone all charging. The drawer is great for headphones, another iPod, notepad and pens. My countertop is finally neat!

Pottery Barn never disappoints! I was able to plug in 2 iPhones, 1 iPad and a Motorola cellphone. It's wonderful to have everything in one spot and not have a bunch of wires showing. I had previously purchased the Blu Dot Juice Box and it was awful, so I turned to Pottery Barn. This is a fantastic product!

Like Most on here I too had a hard time inserting the plugs into the power strip. It Took a Force to just plug something.
The Power Strip once plug is on 24x7x365 which can be costly. There should be a ON/OFF switch somewhere concealed but easily accessible where one does not need to unplug the power cord.

I have never ever written a review of an item before, but I am writing now to warn others about how lousy the “Bedford Smart Technology™ Recharge Station” is. This charger is a complete waste of time and money.
Do not bother with this, if you want to charge your iPhone, or anything else for that matter. None of the plugs that I tried, fit in the station’s power strip. I tried to plug in the cords from 9 different items, including my iPhone, a nightlight, 2 different baby monitors, the rechargeable vacuum, and 2 different re-chargeable battery packs. I even tried to plug in our iron and the toaster to the power strip and nothing worked! I am really disappointed because I have been eyeing this Recharge Station for months.

The unit came without instructions. Can't plug in any chargers -- they won't fully go into the PowerStrip.

Large but not accomodating

While this piece is a fantastic idea in theory, it has to be large to hold multiple plugs. (I didn't bother looking at the dimensions before ordering. My bad!) It takes up a great deal of space on a normal desk. In addition, I had a difficult time fitting all of my plugs (Droid, iPhone, Blackberry) side by side, so I wasn't able to get full use of the power strip.

I really like that I can put all my cords into one box and have the heavy duty extension cord as the only one showing. It is a great way to organize your electronics. I would highly recommend

Good, could use 2 improvements

The appearance and capacity of the Bedford recharge station is really nice. It can hold my Sony portable reader, my iPad (on a docking station), my phone, my garage door opener, a battery recharger, and my BlueTooth headset. It really improved the look and the organization of my electronics area and it's great to have the drawer for storing spare batteries.
There are two things that could use improvement:
1) It's extremely difficult to plug in items. It took 20 minutes to get my iPad plugged in because of the design of the sliding covers over the actual outlets
2) I wish it had a "smart power strip" feature that would stop phantom power draw when one of the attached items was unplugged or turned off on the outside. This would greatly enhance power efficiency.

I am very happy with this purchase.
Pros: * great way to organize charging cords
* Charging strip holds 4 awkwardly sized plugs (yes, it technically can have 6 things plugged in, but most phone chargers take up too much space to plug something in directly next to it on a surge strip)
*looks tidy and neat
Cons: *Front drawer is not big enough to hold much besides cash. It wobbles when pulled out.
*It is expensive
My charging cord did not work when Recharge Station arrived. I called PB and customer service was FABULOUS. Sent out a new surge strip immediately, did not make me mail back the defective one (saved me a trip to the PO.. could just toss the useless one).
I love the clean look of having all our family phones in one place without cords all over. I was hesitant about spending this much on the item, but am thrilled that i did and would do it again.

I really appreciated the other comments on this product. I just received the Recharge Station and the included power strip was defective and wouldn't accept ANY of my charging plug-ins. There were no instructions with the package . When I read the comments about other faulty power strips, I removed the one in my unit and put in a new one and it did the trick! Thank you all for your helpful comments!!

The station is nice, however, the drawer is quite small and seems a bit flimsy. It is placed at the front of the box while inside the back of the space is used for all the hidden cords. This makes sense, but the drawer flops around when you use it. It seems a bit expensive compared to others I've seen. I purchased this because I had a discount to use; had I'd paid regular price I would probably have returned it.

Faulty Power Strip

Buyer beware that although this is a great looking organizer, the power strip is faulty and has fried every item plugged into it and as a result I have had to replace all of the chargers at my own expense. It only has a one year warranty so you are out of luck after that. I would suggest taking out the power strip that comes with it and replacing it with your own before it ruins all of your chargers.
It will not fit bulky square chargers since the power strip is attached to the bottom corner.

I love my Bedford Recharge Station! It is made very well and looks nice on my kitchen counter top. The cord is unbelievable long which I like. It seems nice to have one location for charging all my electronics. Now my husband don't have to ask where is the cord to charge my cell phone...he knows where it's at now!

I was so excited to find this product to organize all of my family's phones/ipods. With 5 of us, the cords were a mess. Unfortunately, the power strip in the back was defective and would not accept any type of plug. I tried all types. I will say that Pottery Barns customer service people were very helpful and set up UPS to pick up the product the very next day so I could exchange it. However, since it was on back-order for 3 months and I could not find anything I liked better, I decided to just keep it and put my own power strip in the back. This works perfectly. I love the way the product looks. Hopefully Pottery Barn will fix the power strip issue, because for the price of this item the power strip should not have to be replaced by the consumer!

We were so excited to receive this item and help organize the clutter of charging cords on our counter top. However we were extremely disappointed to find that our iPhone chargers did not fit, nor did any other item we tried to plug in. The power strip in the back was not compatible with any of our items that need to be recharged. This was a major letdown! The description states it's compatible with "modern technology" yet it doesn't work. Please update this product, it is a wonderful concept!
