I own the Bedford corner desk system and was disappointed when I ordered this to extend my desk and there was not a top on it to even out the level of the surfaces. so in other words you are unable to extend the surface unless you want to get the very long rectangler top.

Doesn't line up with desk!

Finally bit the bullet to add on to my Bedford corner desk, only to discover that without the "topper", this open cabinet doesn't line up. Very disappointed that I can't even purchase the piece....even though it exists. It's part of the three piece corner desk! I have a very small space so buying the larger desktop won't fit. Frustrated........

Last year I purchased 4 white Bedford filing cabinets and a desktop. Recently I purchased the Open File Cabinet to add to my home work area. The quality is great and I don't need tools to put them together. I also like the fact that Pottery Barn has carried this line for sometime so you can pay as you go and purchase additional pieces as necessary.

Great looking item, good value for price. Looks very good with the Savannah baskets. We are using this file in a small professional office. We bought a PB black roll-top desk about 10 years ago, and this file cabinet matches it perfectly. We are very hard to please and could not be happier with this purchase!

A Classic Piece!

This is the 2nd piece we have purchased from the Bedford Collection and once again we are pleased with the quality of the product. We are using it as a printer stand and it is very sturdy, with no side-to-side swaying, as the printer churns out pages. The finish is smooth and flawless and it was packed very well for shipping. We really like being able to put our office together using the various sizes and configurations of the pieces offered in this collection.

Using as an end table

We have two bedford desks for our office and love it so much we decided to use them as end tables with the baskets in them. I love it, I get to put stuff in the baskets (blankets) and that way our living room looks nice and clean. Great furniture and great quality.

I was disappointed when the file cabinet arrived and the baskets were not included. It did not mention in the description that they were not included. On the positive side, the packaging protected the cabinet better than anything I have ever received and arrived in perfect condition.

I suspect these would work well in any situation, but they are nicely matched with the Bedford corner desk. We have four white ones, two on the left side of the desk, one on the right and one by itself. We preferred no drawers since not everything fits in a drawer—more flexibility with baskets that help control visual clutter. The finish cleans up well with all purpose cleaner. Be careful. You can scratch off the finish if metal rubs against it (found this out after putting a 11x17 printer on one of them—although the printer weighs about 30-40 lbs). The shelves and back have a semi-circle cut out to allow cords to go through—very well thought out design. I wouldn't change a thing about them. Very happy.
