bedford CPU
September 27, 2011
it is beautiful piece of furniture. it however, does not hold a newer style processor unit once the cords are plugged in etc. - it is not deep enough - like 4" too short in depth! Bummer!

Very much enjoy the terrific espresso color of this line and its simple clean look.
This piece added key additional storage space and additional surface area for my printer.
Stylish and simple.

Good, but check measurements!
February 1, 2011
I like the CPU, it’s very sturdy. My only complaint is that I didn't take measurements to see how our computer would fit in the unit. We just bought a new computer and so I assumed it would fit. We had to remove the back so that the cords could attach to the tower. We also decided to use it as two shelves instead of the vertical option shown, because there was so much extra space around the hard drive. That aside, it’s a very nice piece of furniture and seems well made.

Improper Ventilation
December 19, 2010
Furniture such as this cabinet looks great but doesn't take into consideration the ventilation needed to prevent expensive electronics from overheating. Most computer towers have a fan on the side and the rear. The area allowed for air circulation in this cabinet is not sufficient. This is also true of stereo and TV cabinets. Another reviewer mentioned that the back slides off this cabinet, so it should be taken off no matter what to insure proper cooling not to mention to make room for the multitude of cords and usb hook-ups for your computer.

Nice, just not for a computer
August 8, 2010
The size of this cabinet is smaller than most common computers, so if you are looking to use it as a CPU cabinet make sure you measure carefully before buying, and give yourself an extra couple of inches for the power cord, etc.
The "back" of the cabinet does slide out, so you could technically hang your computer out the back if it is too deep.
I knew it wouldn't fit my computer, so my plan was to reconfigure that area as a shelf (which is easily doable with the parts included). In that capacity I am very happy with it, but it would be nice if it were designed to fit most standard/common computers.

Too small for my CPU (Dell XPS420)
April 13, 2010
I am a long-time, faithful Pottery Barn customer, and will continue to be one despite this minor setback. It was a sad day when I slid my CPU into the cabinet and soon realized that the cabinet lacked sufficient depth to house my CPU. I always- well almost always- measure before ordering furniture. I did not do so in this case, having presumed that the cabinet would accommodate most CPU's. This was not the case as, minimally, an additional 4" of depth would be required to house the unit and allow for cables, cords and adequate ventilation.
