Well Made but a Little Too High/Cushions Don't Fit

These counter stools are really pretty and solidly made. Unlike some look-alikes, they are well crafted, and have a nice stain. I got a discount on a discontinued color (brown). The back of the stool has corner posts that stick out so the cushions don't sit back against the back of the stool. The cushions are too wide toward the back of the stool. They are generic cushions for all Pottery Barn stools and don't fit the Aaron stool very well. I am 5'5" tall and have some trouble getting up on the stool. I usually lift the cushion and sit on the wooden seat because they are so high. An inch or two lower would be so much better. They are standard counter height but the cushions add more than an inch. I am sorry I bought them. I wish I had looked more.

I did A LOT of looking around before I ordered 6 of these stools. They were shipped in less than a week, and were in perfect condition. They are very well made and look great in our kitchen. I'm so glad we made this purchase :)

I purchased three Aaron barstools three years ago, and last month I decided that I needed a fourth, although my kitchen island holds only three. This one isn't quite as pretty as the others--it is black but lacks the reddish brown accents. It also was slightly inclined to rock and required a bit of sanding on one of the legs. On balance, however, I'm happy with it. I'm probably the only one who'll notice the difference. I frequently have four people gathering in my kitchen these days, and now we can all sit down. In terms of quality, I should note that the black Aaron barstools replaced four oak schoolhouse style ones, and they all are of excellent quality.

Amazing barstools

I love my new Aaron barstool. I have other barstools ...from pottery barn of course ... The quality and durability of those has been amazing...I was just looking for an updated look in my kitchen and decided to try the Aaron barstool. It is comfortable easy to clean and looks fantastic!! I plan to order several more!!!

Great barstools

I have had these for several months now & am very pleased. I bought them based on other reviews. Retailers told me a quality barstool/chair has the foot rungs built in (as opposed to screwed in) so this was something I knew I wanted. I have 3 kids who will no doubt stand on the rungs & didn't want them to snap. My daughter knocked one over & instead of the paint chipping off or it dinging it made a whole in the hard wood floor. Not a great outcome but I guess it says a lot for the sturdiness & strength of the barstool. We did have one scratch so far but the redness of the underneath distressed paint is what came through so it is not as bad as the exposed wood showing up. You can barely notice it. Shipping was excellent.

Classic Pottery Barn Style and Quality

I bought a pair of these bar stools in the espresso stain to put at the breakfast bar in my apartment. Since I do not currently have a kitchen or dining table in my small space, I wanted something that looked nice (since the breakfast bar borders my living room) but that was also comfortable and durable enough for everyday use. After comparing multiple chairs from multiple retailers, I purchased these and am very happy I did.
If you're putting these on hardwood floors, I do recommend putting pads on the legs to protect the wood and finish.
The only surprise was that they were delivered fully assembled in very large boxes. The packaging was great and the stools suffered no damages during transit, but I am lucky that my carrier carried them up a flight of stairs to my front door; I probably would not have been able to carry them that far myself.

At last a comfortable barstool

I have been looking at purchsing barstools for some time and am very pleased to have two of them now in our home from The Pottery Barn. They are extremely comfortable and not flimsy as so many products I looked at were. My husband and his fiends are "big guys", and I feel these stools will stand up to heavy use. The design and color of the stoosl fit perfectly with our decor.
I would recommend them highly!

I recently purchased the Bedford Project Table (which I absolutely love!) and needed a stool. I saw the Aaron Barstool online and lucked out finding one on display at my local PB store. Since I am tall, I needed to be sure that the seat was deep enough, and when I sat in the Aaron barstool, it was perfect! I now plan to order a second barstool so that I have two for my project table.

we bought six of the aaron dining chairs to go with our benchwright pedestal table-loved them so much that we bought two of the barstools to go with the bedford project table. beautiful, sturdy and comfy as a wood chair can get.
